I suggest these ppl who are smoking and getting sick should show us pix of what they are smoking... And again, try eating it instead.
I can understand why people think that it could be psychological. I'll agree, smoking before eating habitually will have some psychological effects. But I sincerely don't think that this could be responsible for the physical pain that I am feeling daily. I was thinking that maybe since I never ate before I smoked, my body slowly stopped making me hungry since the weed always did it for me. I don't know. I'm going to try some different things and keep posting I guess. I don't intend to suspend disbelief because whatever I'm feeling obviously isn't common. I'll try to post a picture next time I pick up if it'll help at all. Unfortunately, cooking it isn't really an option for me, so I'm not able to test that out. But I'm interested as to what would happen. Maybe vaporizing would also have different effects.
You don't need to cook it to eat it... Just pretend you're a cow and start chewing... lol edited to add; Okay... I've been giving a lot of thought to how I could say what I said (my original response), in a manner that would come across the way I actually mean it... Although it may have seemed like a knee jerk reaction to someone insulting weed... it wasn't... or at least that isn't the part that sparked it. lol Part of the war on drugs, one of the worse parts in my mind, is the slimy way in which it has been waged, especially against weed. If weed is involved in ANY type of 'bad' situation, it has been blamed for everything that happens there... As an example... you will see stories about someone getting into a car accident and barreling through a crowd of nuns carrying sick babies... only to find out that they were drunk, on coke, lsd, shrroms, bennies AND weed plus other assorted illicite substances and some assjack will issue a statement about the evils of pot... or they will toss in some statistics concerning illegal pot grows... Because obviously the main issue in that story is that the person had a roach in his pocket! How about the stories that start off along the lines of Cops Bust Grow OP and then read the story to find out they came into a home with a search warrant for pot, found six plants in the upstairs closet... some coke, heroin, plus bottles and cans of chemicals in the backroom with some assorted automatic weapons and such... Of COURSE the problem here is the kid upstairs growing some weed.... not that the parents are running a lab and have automatic weapons laying around... Just because weed is involved, does not mean it is the culprit, in fact, it is quite possibly the least important part of it or not involved at all.... and that is the part that sparked me off... If a doctor doesn't know what the problem is, it is easy for them to say, maybe its the weed... In otherwords... just because someone (or even a few someones) who are having similar problems, smoke pot, doesn't mean pot is the cause of the problems.
Well has anyone stopped to think that perhaps this select few handful of doctors who've discovered this horrible new Ailment are simply being paid by DARE, the DEA and the same damn anti-pot lobbyists that bought this prohibition in the first place? Just perhaps theres another condition which is truly to blame for your pains and when that kills you they'll find it to be effect of the prior condition and not the cause or just blame it on chronic pot use altogether. :dupe:
The most important thing to find out for everyone is what is really causing this. Obviously cannabis affects the "disease" in some way, either masking it, or inflaming it. It won't be until our gov't allows more research into cannabis that an answer will be forthcoming. I think it will reveal a lot more about how cannabinoids affect our lives, as well as the medical benefits of cannabis.
I couldn't agree with this more. With any medication or medical problem it's very easy to control symptoms with your mind and not even realize it. I've dealt with a lot of medical issues for a long time and I'm on a lot of medications that cause issues. If I let myself get worse, I really do.. Kind of off subject, but still. Of course no one wants to admit that something is in their head, I know for awhile I thought morphine shots weren't working for me at all. Then I told myself it would. I made myself relax after and not concentrate on the pain from the shot and it would help a ton. I'll still never tell my mom she was right though.. I edited this to ask if you have totally ruled out diseases to foods? The symptoms sound similar to people who have issues with say, gluten. You could be eating a lot of something that bothers your body and that sets it off and you don't even realize it.. Then your body gets it all out and you start the slow process of putting that allergy back into your body, until it gets upset and empties itself again. *shrug*
Hello, I stumbled upon this site researching this syndrome. I suffer from it. My story: I smoked weed heavily for about 15 years. I lived in Southern California where it was readily available. I started suffering from the exact symptoms that this syndrome has. Bouts of EXTREME nausea, abdominal pain, dehydration (from vomiting and not being able to hold down even a sip of water). Extremely hot baths that I would stay in for hours on end would be the only relief I could give myself. My bouts would be cyclic, about once every 2 months. These bouts would last about 3 days each and would end up in frequent ER visits, where only heavy narcotics (like morphine) that could knock me out would end my misery. And would be followed by a week of recovery (easing into solid foods and such). I had every test known to man, including: Endoscopies, Colonoscopies, a Barium enema, a full food allergy test, sonograms, Xrays, MRIs, about a million blood and urine tests. I tried all sorts of diets: no gluten, vegetarian, no spicy foods, no caffiene, low fat, no alchohol (i was a moderate drinker). Nothing, none of it worked. 4 years ago, I moved away to Georgia, where I no longer had a connection. The first few months here, I had 1 major bout and a minor bout. After 6 months, with no weed, no more bouts. This continued till last year, 2009. I got my hands on about a quarter pound of weed from a friend of my brothers. Yay, smoking again! After about a month and a half of chronic smoking again, then SLAM BAM. I have a nasty bout of nausea, pain, dehydration, ending in hospitalization when, at work, I started suffering and they ended up calling an ambulance for me. I continued to smoke. A month later, BAM, here we go again. /sigh. After seeing an gastroenterologist (sp?) and getting some tests, including an MRI done, the doctor happened to ask me off hand "Are you a chronic marijuana smoker?" I said "Just lately". And he said my symptoms, especially the hot bath remedies, were indicitive of this disorder he had been just reading about in a medical journal. When I got home and started searching the web, I found many folks with the same thing and hallelujah, it's what I have. Since then I haven't smoked weed. Which sucks. But I'm no longer sick.
This leads me to a topic that's been on my mind a very, very long time. I've loved getting stoned for 40 years. But, coughing was always an irritating aspect of toking and I was concerned for the welfare of my lungs. Back around 1980 I confided to a buddy that I wished I could 'be stoned' without toking and I asked him what he thought about seeking out a hypnotist who could arrange, through post-hypnotic suggestion perhaps, a way to become stoned at will - using a trigger word or action of some kind, thereby eliminating the need for weed, for toking, for coughing, for cancer, for criminal charges and on and on. He was intrigued, to say the least. But we didn't know any hypnotists personally and would probably have been too sheepish to request such a service. But I've thought about this alternative for 30 years and I'm not getting any younger. Could be revolutionary if possible. But is it? Edit: Moved this to its own thread.

I would be in prison for doing that. We all would be. And rightly so. But all that happens to cops is losing a job. IF THAT. If I ruled, there would be a lot of cops in prison. A lot.
