I heard that dreaming in first-person that you die will actually kill you (I'm not sure how, maybe because your mind believes it is actually dead and just stops). I always have dreams that I'm falling backwards down a large hole (like a really really deep hole) and right before I hit the ground I manage to turn over in the air and I wake up and my whole bed is shaking. I once knocked over my nightstand during one of those dreams. I've never actually hit bottom.
My teacher told us that if you ever see yourself in third person in a dream, you will die soon. Even more so if you actually die in the dream.
well then your teacher could tell me im going to die in like 20 minutes. Ive died in dreams both ways, with the first one a couple of years ago im still here
Yes, I've also heard that if you die in your dream while having a first person dream, you'll never wake up. But I've died many times in my dreams and always in 1st person. Some people say that if you see yourself dying in third person then you'll really die, but I haven't experienced death while having a 3rd person dream. I'll tell you about one of my dreams. I dreamt I was a doctor but I was practising illegally. One day a woman called me and she claimed she wanted a pregnancy termination because she didn't want to have anything in common with her present boyfriend (who was an assassin). I came to her house and she paid me for the operation. Then me and my assistant began operating on her. But something got wrong and the woman died. Then her boyfriend came back from work and saw the corpse. He started chasing us because he wanted to have revenge. He shot to death my assistant. He tried to shoot me but he didn't manage. When he ran out of bullets he started throwing various objects at me. Finally I got out of the flat and tried to use one of the four elevators. They were all locked and there were no stairs. So the man also went out of the flat and said that there was a password for each elevator and I sould guess one if I wanted to get out. I did guess one of them and the doors of the responding elevator opened and I got inside. The man told me: "Oh, you shouldn't have taken that one". The doors were closed but the elevator started shrinking and everything got green. Then black. I woke up. The same night I went back to sleep again. The same man was chasing me with a car. He hit me and I died again. I woke up and several minutes afterwards I went to sleep again. He was trying to kill me with needles but I was not exactly in pain. Then he invited me into his car. Weird!!!

Isn't that weird? Such dreams give me headaches but nothing more than that. I wonder what they mean!!! Can anyone tell me?
Yep, same thing happened to me. Excatly as you described it. A stranger walked to me and shot me in my chest... it hurt for a second and i felt a lot of adrenaline, after that i found myself in a dark empty place. It didnt last long and after that i woke up. It was scary as hell xD
I've died in my dreams before and it was not fun. Everything thing faded to black and I seemed to drift for an eternity until I woke up.
Thats a great question. No one who's truly died can vouch for what it feels like now can they? I once had a dream I was shot through the chest, it's was the most incredibly emotional dream, I've never felt that emotion before and have yet to feel anything close to it.
Ive had dreams where I was just about to be killed, or just about to fade away after an accident- but I always awake - shaken up & reluctant to go back to sleep right away. Ive also dreamed where I had killed or was just about to kill-and sometimes it played out, sometimes I woke up- I pretty much stopped having those type dreams- they are real scary and again >very reluctant to even close my eyes for awhile-
I had a dream in 3rd person where I had life support connected to a watch and my brother grabbed my wrist to check the time and killed the life support. My family screamed as I slipped into oblivion. I still woke up in the morning...I think.
I have had a few of these dreams lately too....I thought it may have been me starting to become lucid...as in lucid dreaming...so I did a bit of research, found a few sites including: lucid dreaming mask and of course the wiki article, but I really want to learn more, anyone have any tips about what sites give the most information? Thanks
I think it would be interesting if someone dreamed that (s)he was dying and kept on dreaming. I'd be fascinated to hear what it's like to dream of being dead.
you can, or so i would imagine, although i don't recall ever having done so myself, have dreams in which you die, and you can also die while sleeping. there is however, no direct or logical connection, of which i am aware, between the two.
