What if someone breaks in to steal your cans? I'd shoot 'em.

Don't shoot the smoke alarm. Keep the batt. up and keep it in a place where you can reach it and turn it off. Always make sure you turn it back on. A small price to pay for the lives of you and the ones you love.

Does this look like your place?
    http://www.lightbulbsdirect.com/page/001/CTGY/SmokeDet&qts=yahoo&qtk=residential+smoke+detector?OVRAW=residential%20smoke%20detector&OVKEY=residential%20smoke%20detector&OVMTC=standard

    • [*]Ionization smoke detectors respond first to fast flaming fires. A flaming fire devours combustibles extremely fast, spreads rapidly and generates considerable heat with little smoke. Ionization smoke alarms are best suited for rooms which contain highly combustible material.

[*]Photoelectric smoke detectors respond first to slow smoldering fires. A smoldering fire generates large amounts of thick, black smoke with little heat and may smolder for hours before bursting into flames. Photoelectric smoke alarms are best suited for living rooms, bedrooms and kitchens. This is because these rooms often contain large pieces of furniture, such as sofas, chairs, mattresses, counter tops, etc. which will burn slowly and create more smoldering smoke than flames. Photoelectric smoke alarms are also less prone to nuisance alarms in the kitchen area than ionization smoke alarms.

Well said......the saddest thing about this thread is ....you are worried about being a hippie(whatever that title means).....yet a "hippie" is a free thinker....yet you can't think for yourself and have to seek advice from total strangers......reality is harsh

I think if one has to ask on this the answer is" you are not ready."
plus shooting cans is noise pollution and a waste of resources, even if you cap (fill) your own bullets.
If you live in the country, and by that I don't mean miles of 40-acre plots but real backwoods country/ desert rat territory and marauding animals might take out your kids, well, maybe it isn't a bad idea.

Waste of resources! Ahhh, that's what I tried saying earlier but couldn't get it out. Cans are aluminum - would be good recycling them. Try crushing cans instead of shooting em. ;)

now sit on down chitlins and a listen up.

"It's rediculous to talk about a revolution without a few words on guns. If you haven't been in the army or done some hunting, you probubly have a built in fear against guns that can only be overcome by familiarizing yourself with them."

    Steal This Book

    Abbie Hoffman

Yup Yup chitlins if you do you reading you'd learn a thing or two, I myself own a few firearms, I didnt buy em though, inherited them, hippy buddys have suggested i sell them, but ya see if i dont sell them they'll be safely locked away in my basement, if i sell them they'll be more likely out being used for death.

guns are cool i got to admit. how you use them depends on your moral standing within. there's nothing wrong with guns now that we have a culture that makes room for recreational use of firearms (anything from shooting targets to hunting). murder is a problem though. murder isnt the fault of the firearm, the person is at fault. saying guns are evil is like saying television and fastfood is evil when we as a people won't take the initiative to avoid it. we get what we pay for, and what we pay for is what we get. personally i see alot of logic in owning a gun for self-defense if you live in certain areas. and note to all you hippies.. americans generally hate you as it is so it might not be a bad idea to invest in self defense.

    That's spoken

but, if you increase the number of guns available, you increase the number of murder

like, if there was no atomic weapons, there would not be any nuclear threat
it is up to the government to use them or not, but...it's still more risky, you can use it when you have it

What do you think about Iran?

The number of death in the wars increase with the technology warriors are provided

    I just assume that

My point of view is different from yours, I ve been in AZ, was cool

I think that when people get drunk, and start to fight, i think the bigger what they will use to grow their ego is, in term of weapon, the bigger the amount of victims

It is just rational to me
I see what side you point out, of course I do, maybe it could work in the short term, but honestly to me, it is irrational.

What about speaking of the guns that are not registered and people that have no license?
