hey man, i brought a whole bottle on the plane last week. just had it in my carryon. granted, i had a prescription for those, otherwise i'd have been more worried, but i got sniffed the other day with a pocketful of xanax, clonazepam, oxycodone, and adderall and the dog just looked the other way. if you are really worried, try using a container that is airtight. you can actually buy them at some pharmacies (usually called something stupid and cutesy like "pill caddy") because some common medications need to be sheilded from the air in high humidity locations like Florida, etc. either way, i think you'll be safe. the worst that could happen is you say you've got a script and they don't believe you and confiscate them.

and by the way - flying on oxy is the only way to travel.

yeah, everyone's lucky sometimes. i had my stash confiscated at one point though because the police decided to search my house - the roommate was making fake id's...so i guess the dog thing was just karma helping me out.

i'm prescribed oxy (or rather was - my doc recently changed my script) for intense chronic joint pain that's related to a genetic condition i have. just started about 2 months ago, right after i started to discover the joy of recreational opiate use.

thank god i can look on the bright side of my pain, take a few extra pills, and go through it all with a smile.

I disagree with you I do think the dogs can smell Oxycontin the reason I say this is cuz when i was crossing the border the drug dog alerted the handler that I had something on me I shit my pants so they searched me but didnt find the oxy I got really lucky they let me go when they didnt find anything so they may as well be able to smell some narcotics this was the first time this happened i have passed through in front of the Dogs many times without a problem till now.

im against smuggiling drugs, it is illegal and NOBODY should try it, and i would NEVER do it. Out of curiousity though, do those new xray scanners in airports catch drugs wrapped in nylon or plastic bags and shoved up ur ass?

    Yes, this is correct.

However if trained, this is very possible! I had 18 months time in the Army, sent to Naushki, I was to give help on night time train border-crossing.

Normal I would wait on the station, passport inspection happen as I would search under the train with torch light. After 30 minutes time, train would continue, we would return. This night, I was told to get on to the train... it was for many Opiates (maybe was not Oxycontin), found from the dog. This is possible, I am certain. It was not Prescription or air-tight package. I had to arrest, and remove the man by gun point. I am not a drug-user, also I do not know how would be the reaction to a very small amount, however, please be very careful.

I think dogs can be trained to alert on just about anything. I've even heard of exterminators with dogs trained to sniff out bed bugs. But back on subject, I don't think people carrying small amounts of OC's would be much of a priority these days at airports. Large quantities, maybe, but since 9/11 I think their priorities have changed.

To my knowledge, drug dogs are trained to smell illegal drugs. Oxycontin is a legal prescription. If they were to sniff out people with legally prescribed oxy, they'd be setting off loads of false alarms! I'd still be careful though. If you have some capsules from vitamins or an old script prescribed to you, break em or crush em and put them inside the capsules. I've done this with lithium capsules. Just have to gently take the 2 halves of the capsules apart, load em up with yr good stuff and put them back together.
