Can Acid make you go crazy For The Rest Of You Life?

From a third person perspective, I would never recommend someone like me to do any drugs what-so-ever, especially that of strong hallucinogens.. Though even when I had terrible anxiety, I've always had a positive experience with LSD. Where smoking pot used to enhance my anxiety, acid put my mind on other matters and for the most part put me in a fantastic mood. As Chuck Berry says, you never can tell.

I have known someone who maybe "went insane" as you call it on acid

But to give you a little backround on this girl she was exremley schitsophrenic and paranoid. I have known many people with mental disorders but none like this. i really felt bad for her because she was such a sweet girl but she was just stuck in her own head (thought all her drinks were posioned and would make me or another friend tatse it for her to prove it was not, heard vioces, things like that).

Well she took what I believe was at least several dozen hits of acid at one time, after she would talk about things that made no sense but then again she would alwyas ramble on about things. One of the things was that she thought Jamie Madrox (he's in Twizted she was a big juggalo) was calling her all the time. But That is just how we knew her in our circle of friends, so it seemed normal, things like this happend with her anyway. Well this went on for a week or two. She was not violent or anything but we could tell she was diffrent. I would say she seemed more at peace myself, less troubled. but some of her friends did think her big LSD trip could have had something to do with it.

But about 2 or 3 weeks after this happend she was killed by a drunk driver, so I couldn't say about the long term.

But as far as short term, yes I have seen a big change in peoeple who maybe should not have taken it to begin with. but I have never seen someone with a healthy mind not come back from a trip.

Sure, acid could make you go crazy for the rest of your life, just like finding a dollar on the street could make you go crazy for the rest of your life. Eating a bag of chips could make you go crazy for the rest of your life. This question is so subjective that it defies any rational answer. It's like asking, can my car explode if I drive it to work today? Of course it can, but it would depend on other variables that are already present.

Which brings us to another question: why are you asking this if you're already so sure you know the answer?

threads like this is why acid is dying out... I have personaly delt with hundreds of ppl dosing them 2 high hell. to this day i have not seen or meet ne one who went in normal and came out fucked up. If you have a underlying problem it might come out and if you dont youll be normal... this is some of the most retarded shit Ive ever read. if you think your mind isnt strong enough for L you shouldnt do youll have a bad time. the worst it can do is change your outlook on life... I dosed hundreds of times like every other week end for the last 4 years... i dont dose unless its alot 2 me a tickle aint fun or serve me any purpose. Im normal. ive delt with the same fam for my whole time dosing... i thought i was bad these guys are animals... and the funny thing is they all seem perfectly fine 2 me... when i see it in person ill belive untill then i refuse 2 belive ne of this nonsence.

Acid can bring out a mental illness/emotional problems for those who were prone to them. However, not everyone knows that they are at risk, so it's hard to know whether or not it's a good idea to drop.

That being said, I haven't felt the same since I took LSD once (although I've also taken mushrooms twice, and smoked a lot of weed- my problems could be related to any one of those, a combination, or entirely unrelated). I'm not schizophrenic as far as I know, but while tripping I certainly acted like it- I was having bad mood swings; I also freaked out during my peak because I felt my mind breaking into a million peices and get scattered all over the ground. I do know for sure that I just haven't been the same person since I've done a few psychedelics and it scares me because I KNOW this is not how I'm supposed to feel. Mind you, I was being SO stupid and entirely irresponsible in choosing to use these drugs in the first place- I've got a shaky past, and I've known something was wrong with me for a while. So it was entirely my stupidity and not the "fault of the drugs", so to say.

And someone early on in the thread made a good point: Whoever is willing to say that LSD can be beneficial and teach you how to better your life, NEEDS to be able to admit just as readily that acid can mess with you and make life harder than it was before. Which way it goes really depends on who you are, and for some people, there's no way of knowing (genetic predisposition, etc.)

I'm in no way against the drug, but I do think that people need to be extremely careful with it.

I have seen it happen and I'm not interested in responding to those who are going to point out that my friend was troubled before he took acid.

I wasent ever normal after my first hit it takes you to another world and you never quite come out of. It makes you understand what the world really is, you see more than what they want you see. As far as the first hit and completely loosing it? Well in this world knowing the truth can be crazy in some eyes, but for me its just a better way to live.

 

LSD changed my life. It solidified my views at a time when i was a leaf in the wind with no ide a who i was. I broke completely out of the societal norm.

Define crazy? It can induce scitzophrenia in people with latent or suppressed mental disorders. I mean, it made me crazy as hell, but what is crazy except a human construct aimed at conforming anyway. Crazy is but a word.

I'm always glad to hear people admit that they've never been the same since their first trip. It's truly terrible that for people that admit that others don't quite understand it and immediately assume that's a terrible thing.
