Camper killed by Police for camping

Truly a shame... both of these individuals perished needlessly. Hopefully the officers are held accountable.

 

I've just lost the little faith I had had in the police ! TSK TSK

Moonglow, apparently you live in the city, not where the only things trying to cave your door in is grizzly bears or thieves, rapist & murderers. Guns DO have a place..... protection! I LOVE to target practice, & many of us who choose to live in the wilderness do. I'm 60, disabled, & the people who've bashed in my door weren't doing it to improve my health. If my rapist (old 'friend' from school) ever breakes my door down again, I'LL BLOW HIS FUCKING HEAD OFF!..... but I supose you think I should sit him down for a chat!!!!

ive never cared much for the police really, but i think they are necessary in society. the cops are everywhere but i dont really interact with them in any way. you gotta do something pretty crazy to get noticed usually

 

Fucker waves a knife at me threatening to kill me and my dog I'd of shot his ass too. Not from 30 feet though with other officers around me. Less lethal rounds could of been used. Now if i was by myself and hes charging i wouldn't let him get within 6 feet of me. Oh and the illegal campground could of possibly been radioactive or toxic. Seen that in the movie unicorn city .

 

Just imagine...the man is camped out and sleeping. Not bothering anyone. Just wait until morning and have a cop or two escort him out of there then. De-escalate the situation, not make it worse. All those cops, the lighting, the environment as a whole, they were only making matters worse than they really were. If a couple cops went up there and talked to him instead, one talk to him with another standing 15-30 feet away and at an angle, and just talk to the man like he's a human. Ok, he has mental issues. De-escalate those by talking WITH HIM. Treating him like he's a human. Not like he's some rabid animal.

He's human like you and I. And he has just as much feelings and emotions as you and I.

 

I know I'd hate to be camped out and the swat team starts focusing on my "squat" as a criminal offence. Unfortunately, the many mentally ill in many states have no real place to live or go to that is actually safe. You know it's trying times when the police think they are a para-military force and some citizens are terrorist/criminals.

 

There wouldn’t have been any killing if the police officers had stun guns instead. Real guns are the work of the devil!

 

No, real guns require common sense. Any wonder why more cops have murdered innocent people since 9/11/2001 than all the US soldiers that have died in the same time frame?
