Alrighty. Give me one of Mohammed's prophecies. Something that's going to happen here on earth that we'll be able to see happening.

Book of Mormon goes along with Christian stuff, I guess.

The Prophet Nostradamus... What religion did he go along with?

The I-Ching is like a magic eight ball, but instead of getting a yes/no/maybe answer, you get a personality trait. Perserverence. Strength. I used to use the I Ching and all that stuff, flipping coins or throwing sticks, it's the same level as an 8 ball.

Really mate, where's all the "1/3rd of the seas will turn to blood" ? Where's stuff that's going to affect everyone on earth, and prove one religion over the other? Only in christianity.

Ha ha... this would be brilliant if I weren't so damn educated on this type of horseshit.

I am not a Mormon. I am not a Muslim. I don't give a shit if Nostradamus worshipped eagle testicles.

All I care about is that these fuckers call themselves PROPHETS. That predictions are made by psychics each year and that doesn't mean SHIT.

I don't care if all your vague (metaphoric or literal) "interpretations" are "fulfilled" in YOUR eyes, there will always be other eyes who see it differently. It proves NOTHING.

I am ATHEIST. I do not believe, nor see any legitimate evidence for INVISIBLE SKY DADDY.

The beginning of this thread says, "DOES GOD EXIST?" Campbell says yes and says it is Jesus.

First of all, he's offered NO EVIDENCE for an Omni-Max deity and secondly, he needs to get his shit straight-- Is this debate going to continue or is he going to try to put me on the defensive (ain't gonna work) with his red herring of attempting to change the thread into PROPHECY CENTRAL?

If those yearly psychic prophecies are false, though, the world ain't effected. If christianity's prophecies are wrong, though, that effects 1/3rd of the world. Oh shit!

Campbell, bring up the Eastern Gate stuff. I love that story.

    *yawn*

It is evident that PROPHECY CENTRAL is here to stay.

Damn, I was hoping to get into a really informative and entertaining debate.

There is a prophecy spoken of, in the Old Testament, that we can see with our own eyes.

Thousands of years ago, a gate was shut on the eastern side of Jerusalem, that will never be opened until the second coming of Christ. Throughout all of Israel's wars (present and past) it has never been opened. Twice in the last century, people have tried to open it, but none have succeeded.

As stated in Ezekiel 44:1-2, NIV translation:

Twice in the last century an attempt to open the sealed Eastern Gate has failed. I found the following in Grant Jeffrey’s book "Heaven, The Last Frontier." The first attempt was on December 9th 1917, when the Grand Mufti, the Arab leader of Jerusalem, tried to open this gate. He had ordered the other gates to Jerusalem sealed to deter the approaching allied Expeditionary Army led by the British General Allenby. This was back in the early 1900s when the British were dismantling the Ottoman Empire, which had ruled over the land of Israel for 400 years.

But, the Grand Mufti did need to have one gate remain open, so he ordered his workmen to open the mysterious sealed gate. As the workmen picked up their sledgehammers, Allenby's airplane flew over the city, telling the Arabs to flee. Miraculously, without a shot being fired, the opposing soldiers fled the city. The city was delivered into the hands of the Britain, which one month earlier had promised the Jews the right to re-establish sovereignty over their ancient homeland, via the famous Balfour Declaration. The workmen fearfully put down their sledgehammers and the gate remained sealed as Ezekiel had prophesied.

Then, in 1967, the ancient prophecy was fulfilled again. But first, a little history: In 1948, the Jews declared sovereignty over a portion of their ancient homeland. In retaliation, King Hussein of Jordan, who had control over the ancient city of Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount, forbade the Jews from worshipping at their sacred Western Wall. This was the first time in centuries that the Jews did not have access to the Western Wall, which is a remnant of the wall around the second Temple, which was destroyed by the Romans some 1900 years ago.

King Hussein decided to build a hotel for Arab pilgrims on this section of the Western Wall, closing off this area to Jewish worship forever. The planned hotel was to be built over the Magreb Gate, which Moslems used to enter the Temple Mount. So, the King needed to open another gate so that Moslems could get to the El Aksa Mosque, which was built by Moslems on the site of the Jewish Temple Mount.

In violation of the prophecy, he ordered his workmen to open the sealed Eastern Gate. But, during this time, Arabs were also preparing to attack Israel, hoping to wipe out the Jewish state. And the Jews were about to preemptively respond to this planned attack. On June 5th of 1967, as the workmen prepared their air-hammers to shatter the huge stones sealing the Eastern Gate, an intimidating array of Israeli aircraft flew overhead. The Six Day War had begun, and the workmen put down their tools.

At the end of the Six Day War, the workmen were unable to resume their project because the Jews had managed to recapture their ancient capital of Jerusalem. True to Ezekiel’s prophecy, The Eastern Gate is still sealed. The gate will remain sealed until the day when the promised Messiah will enter into His Kingdom.

Prophecies spoken in the old testament and fufilled in the new testament. I could write a million books like that! The Prophet Sera...it has a nice ring...

    I have one now....

One day a powerful nation will fall. Now give me thousands of years, it'll happen....

    Oh, I have another!

One day a displaced people will return to their homeland.

(It's bound to happen in a few millenium...hell, when are people returning to New Orleans?!)

If I keep going maybe I can secure a place for myself in the history books...

What's wrong with the Eastern Gate, Libertine?

Instead of shooing everything away or mocking it, how about telling me why it's wrong or illogical? That is, if you can find a reason...

And if you come at me, saying, "oh, it's just a string of odd coincidences", with the 1-out-of-a-billion chance that the statement carries, I will be rofl-ing

    Because Erise...

PREDICTIONS CAN BE MADE AND "HITS" CLAIMED BY ANYONE.

Because some book says a gate hasn't been opened and won't be until some unknown time by some figure that there is no proof even exists, does not, in any way, prove an Omni-Max Invisible Man in The Sky...

And if you tell me it does... I will be rofl-ing.

not with anything. anything taken from the bible, not good enough. Anything taken from experience, not good enough. What more do we have to offer? nothing. so, why dont we all just quit wasting our finger energy.

A King James version would do just fine. A Catholic version would be fine. The JW's version is not even a translation, they rewrote their Bible to agree with their doctrine. Their Bible has been rejected by the world body of Bible scholars. I believe the Mormons may use the King James, but follow the Book of Mormon that has added to their belief. The Bible is Objective proof, but as usual, you run and hide behind your false fronts, and your smoke and mirrors, in order to hide from the truth. People magazine does not have 100% accuracy, the Bible does. If you refuse to use the evidence that I have presented here, this will only reinforce my arguement that Biblical truth cannot be known, because you refuse to consider the evidence. I'm still at the table, your the one running away.

I am sorry, but just because a BOOK FULL OF SUPERNATURAL MYTHS contains a few truths here and there, some historical fact, and some accurate predictions, it doesn't PROVE OBJECTIVELY an invisible, omni-max Sky Daddy exists.

If you would just *sigh* PROVIDE OBJECTIVE EVIDENCE of your Sky Daddy, we can continue.

    The Civil War happened. TRUE
Atlanta burned to the ground. TRUE
Rhett left Scarlet. ?? WTF ??

But, even that is more believable than your talking snake, "stopping" the sun or stars falling to the earth.

I have NEVER denied that the Bible as well as the Koran contains certain truths, but that is far from proving your Omni-Max deity.

I am not going allow you to get away with using the Bible and Bible "prophecies" as OBJECTIVE EVIDENCE of Omni-Daddy.

I don't give a rat's ass if you prove 1,000,000 accuracies in the Bible, that does not prove an OMNI-MAX SKY DADDY EXISTS.

If you want to argue Biblical Critcism, that is another place, another time. We are here for you to answer the QUESTION: DOES SKY DADDY (OMNI-MAX) EXIST? If so, prove it.

"Prophecy" cannot prove omni-max Daddy, no matter how many and how accurate it may appear to be.

Cat & Mouse, hide and seek games and peek-a-boo do not PROVE Omni-Max Daddy.

Yes, but this one has come true.

One time, the muslims tried to open it. The same hour, they lost all of Jerusalem
The other time they tried, The same week they lost all of Israel.
