cake and beer can be verry good, mind ya not with sleemans hony brown

lambic and kreik styled beers from belgium go great with sweets, they are usualy sweetened and have fruit in them.

Lambic: a non-malted wheat beer - a beer naturally fermented by 'wild', airborne yeasts and bacteria. they can take over 3 years to properly age and are often more expesive than champagne. they have a sour dry taste

Kriek: a Lambic beer in which further fermentation has been brought about with the addition of cherries or raspberries -

Faro: Lambic light, if you will. A sweetened variety with some of the flavor but less intensity of other Lambics.

Gueuze: a blend of two or more Lambic beers to create a secondary fermentation and a Champagne-like sparkle. theese are often cellared in exess of 20 years
