Hello, it's dark under the blanket, no way to read a book. Except when the lightning illuminates the room in a gleaming white light . Regards Gyro
I was installed with the idea you should turn of the tv (and computer) when there's thunder and lightning going on. Not always doing it but sometimes it seems so close I'm not taking the risk.
Hello, me too. I grew up in a rural area with all the power distribution lines mounted on poles. It made sense then. Even now, living in a huuuuge city , it makes sense. If switching operations are performed in the distribution net (like if a lightning stroke into a transformer) voltage peaks can wander along the line and may kill devices. I don't disconnect devices anymore. My one radio is built around tubes, my other one is battery powered. The only thing that is on risk is my laptop. But I decided to trade convinience with risk . Regards Gyro
Hello, oh and I remember the older people in my familly always packed one or two shopping bags with stuff and placed them near the door. Just in case. For me it always felt like we are preparing for the Russian who are invading Germany . Regards Gyro
I put faith in my UPS with surge protection. All the power lines are buried, I would be very sad though if something happened to me computer. Hopefully it would just kill the power supply and not the motherboard and everything else.
Hello, I, too, like my laptop. I think I have to cry a little bit if it gets fried. I have backups, but the latest porn, uhm, source code I meant, isn't in the backup . Regards Gyro
Wind is right off the ocean :2thumbsup: Partly sunny 68° F RealFeel® 66° F But we're expecting a wind shift to the SW and with it high humidity over the next few day and temps near 90 F Hotwater

Real sunny again! Already about 22C at 10 AM. It seems this week is gonna be sunny and warm here too :sunny:
Can't say I completely get hot weather. I mean people from hot countries move to cold countries. Not really vice versa. And I go out in the sun and get a tan that I can't remove. Its 26 degrees where I am, which is fine. But the sun is a bit bright to be out of the shade for too long.
