Bruce was in a different universe to Ali fight wise.
And there are quite a few people a universe above Bruce.

As for Bruce v Ali with regulation gloves , Hmmm
The argument is that an "energy strike" would work regardless of gloves , but theres basically an unspoken code that these things arent used in sport ( hence Bruce falling out with Chinese masters and getting battered).

It was fun watching the UFC early versions or whatever it was called then.
The little martial arts ( nowhere near Bruce's level )guys basically broke Trevor Berbick ( former World Heavyweight champ)and a few others legs in seconds. So the rules had to change.

Ali was probably the second best boxer of all time. Bruce Lee was not a professional fighter.

His style was simply much better. He would be able to beat Ali in a street fighter. Not in a boxing match. energy strikes?

I mean there are tons of examples of boxer just getting wasted by leg kicks. Masato VS Vince Phillips was a good one.

You really cant compare. One a street fighter the other a boxer. Yea if its on the streets Lee would win. Ali would murder him in the ring though. ^^

Yeah an energy strike isnt about impact in the speed/acceleration x weight sense.
Its weird , it looks like a tap but it sort of fucks up the recipients nervous system-sometimes it feels like heat /cold or even an electric type shock.
Whatever it is , its real ( Ive felt it in some ways) eg by a real skinny bloke knocking me across a room.
    Weirrrrrrrrrd shit it is....

Now, I am way more interested in the 'lode v unknown friend' fight, than I was in the imaginary Lee/Ali matchup.

You sound like you took a lot of acid and then watched too many movies.

If a real skinny guy knocked you accross the room, maybe you are just weak.:)

    That is bullshido.

Let me, as a martial artist explain why:

A: Bruce Lee, as an extremely serious martial artists (not a professional fighter) did not believe in wu shu mysticism.

B: Energy transfer in martial arts is very direct. Force is applied in what can be expressed in physical formulas. Heres one I like.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jk9Ybry2Cb4&NR=1

The combined force of pulling down upon them plus pushing from the clench into a knee strike creates enough force too lift a car.

    Bullshit mysticism hurts out sport.

"Jeet Kune Do is just a name, a boat used to get one across the river. Once across it is discarded and not to be carried on one's back." - Bruce fucking Lee.

Also, boxing is a martial art. And Kung Fu is an almost meaningless term. It means something in which one is skilled.

Bruce Lee didn't know Karate, he was Chinese. Coincidentally, Karate's original name was Kotete meaning 'Chinese fist' before it was modified in Okinawa to get acceptance of the ruling Japanese.

Theres no such thing as ki.

Bruce Lee suffered from an injury and couldn't compete professionally.

Ali was the Second greatest boxer ever, next to Sugar Ray. Bruce Lee wouldn't have stood a chance in a boxing match. That's absurd.

    You're all nuts. :D
