You didn't get what happened before the sex scene because you were up making tea.

Seriously there were very subtle hints that I thought spoke louder then blatenly showing something.

Apparently some people saw that, some didn't.

I saw the subtle hints, but they weren't enough to get me interested in the characters' relationship. If done right, subtle hints can be enough, but for me, in this case, they weren't.
