This doesn't mean much, coming from a person who says things like "Most women are horrible".

You cant paint all women with the same pastry brush, cos pastry brushes are kept in the kitchen, so you'd have to ask a woman to go fetch one for you

    Why are you here....

So? I am willing to bet that most Americans who are let's say of Italian or German origin, don't even speak the language, and have very little to do with the culture. Even on this forum people like to say what is their background, like it still has some meaning. The world views you strictly as Americans, and that's that. It's not a bad thing, I'm just saying.

Some traveling Americans can be arrogant when they visit other countries and expect everyone to speak English. I have always admired people who could easily learn multiple languages. I don't happen to be one of them. I struggled with French in high school and college and did well enough to pass but I would be lost if someone talking to me was speaking in French.

This thread was originally about British and Americans. I used to work for a woman from the UK. She would tell us funny stories about when she first moved here and how some of the expressions she used would be totally lost on the people around her. Or the words would mean something totally different here.

I realize that a lot of the world does not like the US but the people who call the US home are not all bad. Many (most?) of us could not even afford to travel abroad.

    I'd try.
If they had a gun and I had a gun, I'd probably blow your brains out - I'm a really bad shot.
Hand-to-hand...I like to think I can take care of myself (and others).
You are a nice person 89% of the time., so yeah, I'd give it my best shot (pardon the pun).

Yeah, I know you probably don't think we all sound like AP. I was just being sarcastic.
It would be nice to hear a different reference from time to time (and not Monty Python/Benny Hill, either )

I'm not sure what this means.

    Mentioning something might be nice...

Easy. Relax. Take a cold shower. Have a beer.

How much of your money goes in taxes (sales taxes etc)?

Shouldn't that be if you didn't rather than if you did?

    Like I meant it.

Besides, women say that everyday about men, and in those instances it's apparently alright. It's to be accepted that all men are inherently pigs, but say anything bad about women, and somebody will no doubt take personal offense.
