I recently saw a documentary that unfortunately seems right: dutch people are among the happiest people in the world indeed, but they also complain the most
Maybe that's why they are happy. They don't hold it in. I just looked it up - Germany 2nd most unhappy place on earth because they hear so much complaining. Haha
In my experience Dutch people have been really nice, have a decent sense of humor and pleasant to hang with. My brother-in-law is Dutch and I've met most all of his family over the years and if they are indicative of Dutch in general than I say :2thumbsup: but I realize my perception/experience is skewed. oh and Asmo is pretty cool also :mickey:
Although I can't really complain a lot (well i can, I'm dutch ) I will admit the ones who travel abroad might be a bit above average in regards to manners, being eloquent and nice than the average klomp-wearing local, but yeah, we know even that is of course a generalisation!
It's my fault. I hoped to trigger deviate again but instead it seems I only get agreements how nice we are...
The Dutch are a bunch of hypocrite bastards. You won't believe the amount of pretending that goes on here. Sure, to the outside world they play all happy and sunshine, but deep inside most are very miserable. And very closed as well to outsiders. Ask any expat how easy it is to make friends in the Netherlands.
Well, somebody else would be just as fun. Dev just seems the most easy (as Bird proved nicely) so I was expecting him.
It does depend a lot on the expat as well. Perhaps it shouldn't where it comes to a country with supposedly nice people, I'm not sure about that
Depending on where you go in America, it can be the same here. Two different places in the u.s. can be as different as two different countries. You can be treated like dirt by a whole community in one area, then travel 40 miles and be treated like family by strangers in another community.
Not necessarily calvinistic of course. For everybody's fun. But not by saying shit or insult people, it would all depend on how much the person who chooses to feel attacked or provoked by something innocent like that would take it seriously. So more a joke than a serious argument really Yes, it is hilarious to see some people jump the gun everytime. I think you know that well yourself
