Well as long as it is televised and available to ANYONE WHO WISHES TO SEEK IT OUT.. Then honestly, i don't care if it is not on US TV....
Here in the U.S., we get lots of trial coverage from cases that occurred in California. CA is set up for dispersing their stories all over the country. That's why you see so many trials on the news from California. (OJ Simpson, Scott Peterson, Robert Blake, the Menedez brothers, and more that I can't remember right now). It's a cheap and easy way for 'news' networks to entertain the public without having to go out and work and gather real news stories. .
That's the problem here in the U.S. People have to 'seek out' real news, like picking through the garbage dump to find some fresh food. .
I suppose it is a very easy way of filling lots of time.. but your possibly being a bit harsh... again as long as it is televised.. People have made up there minds about certain things anyway.. I shudder to think what type of threads are going to be made around here [if any] P.S http://www.bushbumperstickers.com/page-3.html make a suggestion
No, I'm not being harsh. Really. There's a huge problem with video news in the U.S. It gets worse every year. I just won't apologize to an industry that is a joke. The only times I've seen good video news from major national networks was right after 911 and right after Katrina. They are capable of it, but they just don't want to spend money and work, unless it's for a disaster that hits the U.S. .
Regarding televised coverage: http://www.usnews.com/usnews/news/articles/051017/17world.htm http://www.courant.com/features/lifestyle/hc-trial.artoct18,0,6410254.story?coll=hc-headlines-life .
It does not say it was right in front of the media gallery... i think i would try make myself look like a independant man..not under the 'control' of others. He has to grab any opportunity he can to take the upper hand, heck a bit of showmanship never hurts. http://www.guardian.co.uk/ Saddam defiant as trial opens Former Iraqi president says he is not guilty of crimes against humanity. Is there a pool camera for Saddam's trial? In other words, a main camera that takes all the video and audio and disseminates it to any news group that wants it. .
CSPAN is different than BBC. The news stations here ran 10 second clips about it. CSPAN specializes in government coverage and often covers events from start to finish. They carry hours and hours at a time of politicians giving speeches. .
I'm curious about the pool coverage, as al Jazeera was kicked out of Iraq about a year ago by the U.S. If there is no pool camera, I'm not sure how they would access the video. .
What are you trying to say ? what has this has to do with al Jazeera ? I imagine some deal has been made some how.. i am not sure.. i think http://www.courttv.com/extra/ made a offer.. We are seeing the images, enough said .
I haven't heard who is in charge of the video feed. There doesn't seem to be much about it on the web. Whoever is controlling it can decide which groups are allowed the feed and if it can be delayed and censored. It would be best to have it available to everyone uncut and live. Maybe that was the case with his latest court appearance. I don't know. No one seemed to know right until the last minute that it would be televised. In July 2004 when Saddan was arraigned, the video feed was poor quality and parts of the audio were edited out by Pentagon censors. It obviously wasn't Court TV or any other professional newgroup that was in charge of the video back then. Some journalists snuck in their audio recorders and released audio clips on their own.
