None, I've always hated the word spiritual, it's like the word enlightenment, in that it's concerned with that which is improvable (faith based). I dont believe in spirits, or souls, only in God, which I sometimes call Spirit for practical reasons, but outside of the moment of creation, is not what I would consider to be intangible and trascendental to the senses. It is only when thought is used to approach it that it becomes ethereal. IMHO.
Same minus one of the reallys. I can be quite sarcastic irl. It's the lowest form of wit... apparently.
Whoever made that nonsense up was just mad because they considered themselves extremely witty but discovered that sarcasm conquers everything. And then they were really mad when they found out it was a poor man's game.
Oscar Wilde? I was quoting my RE teacher! I should read some of his stuff, he's a big hit in the uncyclopedia...
I like the word brah. it reminds me of being like 5.... my dad would play ob-la-di, ob-la-da on the keyboard... and that part that goes 'life goes on, brah, la la how the life goes on' :leaving:
No way! If you took it as a literal respone to what you said to me, I dont think you gathered my point. If I dropped friends over a belief, Id be a fanatic.
Fanatic, how. What do you mean 'fanatic'. Fanatic like 'buy my bible' fanatic or like KABOOM fanatic. HUh!? What do you MEAN, FANATIC!?!?! I LOOK LIKE A FANATIC TO YOU!?! YEAH!?!? I MAKE YOU WANNA CONVERT OR FLEE FROM ME!?!?!
I love sarcasm! It's one of my favorites forms of humor. I find it witty, entertaining and at times brilliant, as in the example of Jon Stewart and the Daily Show. And to all those who don't enjoy or appreciate it, I say ... your views don't concern me! lolol!
Jon Stewart is indeed brilliant, but he is much more ironically detached than he is sarcastic, which is a big difference. I always appreciate comedians as being smaller-scale spiritual gurus. They often have a meta-level awareness that parallels and inadvertantly alludes to the more all-encompassing awareness of ego transcendence. Sarcasm, however, is a different story. It is nothing more than a way for neurotic minds to avoid facing a grief-stricken heart. Travis
well maybe I don't have a clear distinction between the difference then. I may be blurring the definition between the two. Anyway, according to your description I love irony. And perhaps sarcasm too, as I do believe I slip into it from time to time, except mine really doesn't usually have much of a "bite" underneath, if you know what I mean. Some do, and that can be felt.
As you reminded me of recently, appearances can be deceiving. If the sarcasm is there as a smoke screen for an undercurrent of bitterness or as a subconscious tactic for producing a sense of separation between oneself and an undesirable quality in another (mockery or subtle judgement), then it is without doubt detrimental. Perhaps your manner of self-expression is just more compatible with a "sarcastic" or ironic disposition at times. The structure is not the same as the essence, and many structures can be moulded to accomodate many essences. And of course, as with almost any external appearance, there are gradations. Travis
