Bonnaroo vs Vibes and all the rest

I was at Bonnaroo 05, the last time it was really a "hippie" fest, as now the headliners are most definitely not jambands. It was too big for me, and too full of drunk people looking for trouble. Both of my coolers filled with bottled water, energy drinks, protein bars and other munchies were stolen. Then at about 4 am I woke up to random people sitting in my camp chairs smoking crack...not my scene.


I prefer 10,000 Lakes Festival. Of all the fests I've been to near and far, that one was the best, no contest. Perfect weather, nice, happy people, fantastic music and beautiful campsites. If you can handle the trip out there (which is sometimes half the fun) I heartily recommend it.

What do the various drug prices look like at bonaroo? I'm debating whether to bring them or get there and buy them...

Oh and how easy is it to sneak in? any hints?

From what I understand, as long as you are not bringing in large quantities and you don't make it obvious that you have stuff on you, they don't hassle you much. There are car checks, and from what I understand, they are not performed by police but more so security. With these car check, from what I've been told, they aren't necessarily looking for illegal substances but also checking to make sure you are not bringing in glass, more then the allowed amount of beer/alcohol, fireworks etc etc etc. So if you hide stuff in less then obvious places, there's a good chance you wont be caught but of course that can't be certain. Also, if you do get pulled over by a police, if they ask you if they can search your car you are not obligated to say yes.

You should def. check out inforoo forums. Lots of good tibids. They can't talk specifically bout illegal substances but you get a good idea.

I apologize if it seemed as though I was complaining, I was not. I was only saying that I feel that there are other fests that have better, happier vibes.


As for the searching and drug question, our car was very glancingly searched and we got through with everything we had. The prices there were the same as anywhere else...I guess I would ask myself how far I had to travel and consider how much trouble you would get into if you were pulled over on the way! Seems to me that cops at fests have so many people to deal with that individuals are not of much concern, but if you get stopped on the way, watch out.

 

I am going to The Gathering of the Vibes. I am getting excited now. I have never attended a hippy gathering before. Anybody else going?
