indeed other than metallica i am very pleased with the lineup cant wait for MMJ, Phil, BG All stars, ABB, Plant and Krauss, and GOGOL BORDELLO. after their insane show last year cant wait to see where the put them
i don't know... the more i look at this lineup the more i think "From the folks who fucked up Mtv, napster, and brought you woodstock 99'" should be the theme this year. If i had to pay to go i wouldn't go. This lineup has to be a joke.
I like it, yeah metallica and PJ and Jack Johnson are on it, but fuck the headliners look at the bands that are not headlining; you have some quality shit there. ABB, Willie, Little Feat, BB King, The Raconteurs, Phil and friends, Yonder, Plant and Krauss, Robert Randolph, OAR, MMJ, Talib Kweli, Lupe Fiasco, Dark Star, Derek Trucks, Bela Fleck, UM to name a few. Im stoked.
this lineup is going to bring out an incredibly stupid bunch of assholes (Tennessee has plenty of them) and fuck the whole bonnaroo vibe. i guarantee some dumbass is going to get geeked up and stab someone, girls are gonna get raped, and the number of OD's will be tremendous. Superfly and Ashley Capps have gone mad or just stopped caring about their patrons.
I know alot of people have been throwing around rumors of Led Zep playin Roo '08, and even though I didn't really believe them before, I do now. NME.com stated that at midnight tonight they would have a special suprise headliner announced and they announced Zep headlining. Pollstar also listed them as a headliner and within minutes the was an AP artcle proclaiming that Lep would be headlining. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jXicZeCdX-3P_1eTq8cFt0Yi_j0wD8UKK3O80 All of these articles were taken down or changed to omit Zep but it looks like someone dropped the ball on this one. I think that Superfly is waiting to announce Zep headlining till after grammies or till Roo tixx go on sale to avoid over purchasing by scalpers. Just my 2 cents, but I HOPE I'M RIGHT!!!!
they did say they weren't booking metallica. i really hope you're right useful, but even if you are, the campsites are gonna look like something out of stephen king's the stand
i wanna see zep, but not for roo. but then again everyone said the same thing about metallica. Just gotta keep a positive attitude. but wtf is this about tix starting at 210. wtf. im gunna volunteer

i have to say i am very very disapointed with bonnaroo's line up this year. i thought they would try and go for a more jam band type deal maybe get radiohead since they're touring along with alot of other promising artists.. but instead they have metallica headling, now don't get me wrong i love metallica but they arn't exactly a festival type of band... they are all against the whole drug free love or whatever aura that bonnaroo has had since they started.. not to mention i am NOT a fan of new metallica, if i were to go this year i hope to god they stay true with early metallica otherwise i'll just walk out. here is the line up you decide for yourself. Pearl Jam Metallica Jack Johnson Kanye West Robert Plant and Alison Krauss featuring T Bone Burnett Phil Lesh & Friends My Morning Jacket The Allman Brothers Band The Raconteurs Willie Nelson Death Cab for Cutie B.B. King Sigur Ros Levon Helm and the Ramble on the Road Ben Folds O.A.R. Bluegrass Allstars ft. Luke Bulla, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Bela fleck, Edgar Meyer & Bryan Sutton M.I.A. the headliners may not be that great, but there is some amazing talent on that list. and if you go to festivals because of the drug enviroment and atmosphere then you shouldn't be going at all. its about the music. my main problem with this festival is the ticket prices, 250 for one pass is pretty ridicolous. if i lived closer though i would definitily go.
I am a wee bit shocked bout Led Zep, with all the rumors and such. Pearl Jam was a given. I don't think I'll make it to the Roo this year, but for everybody that does be sure to check out Mason Jennings. He's my hometown boy.
I don't go for the drugs i go for the bands i didn't say they all sucked but i am very disapointed. metallica has been clean a sober for years now and bonnaroo is known for the drugs it has (that's how alot of my friends and i found out.) so i'm just confused as to how metallica fits in... and i also never said that bonnaroo was solely jam bands but they always had a nice set of jam bands and this year isn't so great. i saw a "leak" lineup and i knew it was fake but damn... that line up was fantastic. it included shpongle, radiohead, disco biscuits, led zeplin, manson and some others ill look it and post it on here a lil later. i just got exitied when the possiblilty of those bands and since i saw the line up for reading in the UK i have to say i wish i could afford to go there. wasn't complelty dissing. there is still a possibility ill be there unless i find a lineup i like better.
I think a lot of people are kinda disappointed with the Roo this year. Well, they def. aren't excited about the headliners, whoever they may be. I'm not stoaked about it. I think so many people were anticipating Led Zep and they get Metallica and Jack Johnson. They don't really have a lot of electronica either which is kinda a downer for many.A lot of people need to keep in mind, though, that Bonnaroo is a music festival not a jam band fest. Every year there is some complaint. Last year was The Police. Granted, I believe last year's lineup in general was a lot stronger. BUT there are additions to come. Cross your fingers.
