it's bs like this that keeps a high cop presence.
and CLEAR CHANNEL IS NOT PART OF THE ROO!
security, even at CC venues, is hired out.

First off, what BS keeps the high cop presence? And don't say it's the drugs because it's been that way every year and really isn't correllated to the problems that do occur. Hell there were probably more drugs the first year when there were only 4 campsites and it was no problem.

Secondly, the rights to Bonnaroo were purchased before last year's event by Infiniti, which is a Clear Channel subsidiary. Just because they don't advertise it under the guise of a clear channel event doesn't mean that they aren't the ones pulling the strings behind it.

So I just returned from Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester TN after 3 days of camping out with 90,000 other people. Let me tell you it was one of the greatest experience of my life, 86 bands music all day and all night, comedy tents, yoga classes with 10,000 people, political discussions, drum circles, drugs galore and good cheap food and merchandise.

I cant believe that we can have that many people in one spot for one festival for 3 days living, sharing, loving and respecting one another without the racism and hate we see everyday all over the world, it was an absolutely beautiful thing. It was a place where religion, race and class didnt mean anything we were all one. I wish everyone could experience that someday just so they could understand what I am talking about.

Did anyone else go to this or experience anything like this before other than woodstock of 69'? No Woodstock or 94 and 99 doesnt count those were not peace and love based that was specifically merchant based for money.

The acid wasnt any good there trust me I tried it 3 different times not to say others didnt have better luck but I had 2 gel tabs didnt do shit,4 drops under the tongue didnt do shit, and 3 paper blotters that didnt do shit, I tried alittle each day. I tried it all and trust me I was very disappointing. And same thing with my girlfriend she didnt trip off any of the acid either which sucked I would have loved for her to experience that trip as well but next time.

What was great were the Mushrooms, first day I was there I ran into this hardcore hippy who had a quarter of shrooms for cheap because it had a bit of shake in it but the price was good so I got them, my girlfriend and I took them and this was during the 3 hour long Tom Petty show. Let me just say 30 minutes after injesting these I was tripping my fucking balls off and so was my girlfriend who never tripped before. Well after tripping for a while we decided to get up and use the rest room but little did we know the show had already ended so we used the restroom after waiting in line for a good 30 minutes we moved to the next stage to see My Morning Jacket which didnt start on time so we moved around some more after we missed that show not realizing it we ended up getting lost in Centeroo which is where all the stages are and ferris wheel and so on (basically all the events and main shops run by vendors) which is a large circular area. Well anyway we were lost for a good 3 hours unable to find our way out, but it was mad fun. As bad as we were tripping and making complete retards of ourselves no one payed any attention it was just amazing because it was like we werent even there.

The Ecstacy was great as well we got a couple of FU's and rolled our asses off on Monday night she definately likes the E feeling although she was very tired the following day, it was good too because they werent full of caffine like the E you find around here it was more of a downer which was intense and great feeling.

I dont know if you recall woodstock of 99, but the food there was 3 times the cost it was at Bonnaroo so to me that was cheap food for an event like that. The most expensive meal I got was a 10 dollar burrito which filled me up most of the day sure it was about 3 dollars too expensive but thats not half bad. And a plate of stir fry was 5 dollars and it was a big plate, hot dogs were 3 to 5 dollars and a sausage was 5 dollars but it was huge with everything they had on it. I personally thought it was cheap but to each there own I guess. And how can you complain about 2 dollar to 3 dollar water when it was 5 at woodstock in 99? This festival was rather inexpensive compared to others I had been to.

I got acid five different times, and the doses were high quality and clean. One of those times I found some liquid that was only medium strength, but still very clean - I don't know where you got your doses but everything I got was awesome. I was trippin balls when I met Les Claypool and got his signature, combined that with a little Moxy that I had reserved and next thing I know - I'm watching the sun rise whilst covered in glowsticks listening to Sasha spin crazy beats.[IMG]

Read what you wrote... You are complaining that people hired to look for this shit, found it and took it away... Your friend should feel damn lucky he isn't in Prison on Federal narcotic charges.. so keep that in mind when ripping on people doing their job.. they could have made his life fucking hell.. and they didn't so they can't be that bad afterall.. now can they.
Now obviously your friends aren't very good at sneaking anything in, so don't blame the guy who caught them, tell you friend to learn how to smuggle shit better.
The nitrous isn't going to be allowed no matter what you hear or read.. They will violently put a stop to it.. as they have at every venue since Nitrous started showing up and don't believe that anyone sold any tanks to anyone either.. That makes you sound pretty naive..
And Why you bitcing about Clear Channel again?
Did Clear Channel tell him to bring multiple pounds of drugs to the show? Did they state in the Bonnaroo information handout that selling and possessing illegal drugs would be allowed in Manchester TN. during Bonnaroo??
So it's Clear Channels Fault? It's their fault that your dumbass friend got busted?
And why are you bitching about someone making some money ?
Your buddy brought 5 pounds of drugs to sell... He certainly was planning on making a profit, wasn't he? And those Nitrous tanks.. They cost about $100 - $200 full.. and he could make $1500 to $2000 per tank.. so how is his greed any different than the Clear Channel greed you're bitching about? Was your buddy going to sell them at the same price he paid? Was he going to give it away? I Don't think so.. so How about a little personal responsibility.. and see if there's a clue out there for yourself while your looking. :$

Yea I had a nitrous tank guy set up right by my tent, fucking pissed me off, a loud hiss and crazy laughter into the wee hours of the night, luckily he got busted the third night.

I had some luck with cid, clear tabs that tasted like oranges, really strange and light though for taking three, made me really confused. I just looked for the guy that was tripping his nuts off.

I don't either. This girl, dropped to the ground, with her eyes rolled back in her head after sucking down 5 or 6 balloons. We thought she was dead at first. We helped her up and she started walking and left all her stuff on the ground. Nitrous always brings a pretty negative vibe. Its so cheap to buy and these guys are selling them 5 $ a balloon. I don't know, but it doesn't turn me on.......

OK let me explain something to you. I wasn't bitching about my friend getting kicked out, I was bitching about the fact that there didn't need to be such a crackdown this year.

It has nothing to do with greed, it has everything to do with the fact that when Bonnaroo started they claimed they would never let any undercovers in, and as of last year that promise went down the shit tubes, thanks to Clear Channel.

Regardless of that, there is no fucking reason for those guards to react the way they did. The way they reacted pretty much sums up how we deal with non-violent victimless crimes in this country, if you weren't too busy being Clear Channel's mouthpiece maybe you'd see that. If you think popping people's balloons and slapping them down while they're still in their mouths is necessary to stop people from taking a few hits of nitrous then maybe you should join the rest of the deluded "Anti-drug" community. And I'm not naive about the guards re-selling the tanks because me and about 15 other people witnessed it with our own eyes.

And it wasn't about "not being good at smuggling", me and my friends have gone every year and had no problems whatsoever until the past 2 years, when they've gone through extensive searches of our shit. Do you really think it's necessary.

Finally, Bonnaroo isn't just a music festival, its a veritable money-making opportunity. Of course we were planning on making a profit (and we still did), that's the whole payoff for taking the risk of bringing those drugs in. Whether you like it or not, the main reason it has gotten so big and has been able to draw such fantastic bands is strictly because of the increased amount of vendors and peddlers in the last 4 years.

I'm ripping on people for doing their job? Please. Go back and watch the trials of post-Nazi Germany, and you'll see a pattern, everyone who was apart of the Reich and was running the concentration camps was "just doing their job."
