Better than me... i don't actualy speak like that, i have no idea why i said it. I need a cigarette. I always make it a point to say 'thankyou' rather than 'cheers' people in Leicester say 'cheers' all the time. *sigh* <----- i am learning mariecstasy
I like 'cheers', though. We don't hear it at all here in America (only if people are talking about the television show, 'Cheers' ) . Plus, it sounds more pleasant than boring ol' 'thank you'.
Aww, really? Well, I suppose it would drive you crazy if you heard it every day, wouldn't it? And I've gone completely off-topic. Sorry.
Why don't you go and highlight what made you want to kiss me.. not that i am a egomaniac or anything, i would be intrested. It will bring the thread somewhat back on track also .
Only because you asked so sweetly (your words are in italics): Quote: Originally Posted by BlackBillBlake How do they react to daily carnage in Iraq, unleashed by the US/British invasion? If you asked anyone in the UK they would have some kind of opinion on the situation in iraq. Not that people are discussing it ALL the time . It is in the news all the time.. Even i get a bit sick of it all . Not the situation the mindset of the reporting, that is not as obvious as your opinion, but is prety close sometimes. Quote: This attack has been inevitable for ages, certainly since the day Blair decided to go along with the Bush invasion plan. And only yesterday, the war was a million miles from anyone's mind as they congratulated themselves on getting the 2012 olympics. Erm 'life goes on' .. and Blair did not go along with Bush .. just like every member of the multinational force .. He came to the conclusion and the resolutions were quite clear.. that saddams outing was going to have to be the next action, now he could have said NO.. Just like every othe goverment leader involved a dicision was made. A dicision we can agree or disagree on; not a dicision we would probably like to make though (saying NO has it's own repercussions). Quote: A bit sick in a country that is anoccupying power in a foriegn nation, having invaded in the first place on the basis of a pack of lies. Some say this attack is meant to disrupt the G8 - but anyone with an ounce of perception already knows that no meaningful deal, esp. on climate change is coming out of that anyway. I don't even think you seem to be the sort of person who would accept anything positive that came out of the G8 meetings . It is not only the G8 it is other nations taking part as well.. africa/india (and others) have a representatives (click on my sig') Quote: not just of these London bombongs, but also the victims of the daily bombings in Iraq - which the British media seems to have lost all interest in reporting. You obviously don't read the british newspapers very often. Quote: Nonetheless, my sympathies are with the victims - Mine are too, it is a tragedy. And.... High/low alert is a bit meaningless imho as when something like this happens the goverment (that is always having to be on high alert) now expects us all to be the same. It was only realy hoisted upon us for 'a few months' because we would say they are trying to keep us in fear.. I really have nothing to add to that, aside from the fact that I agree the high/low alert business is nothing more than a scare tactic the government uses to keep us on edge.
i do agree but when i hear people say no one cares i just feel the need to point out that some do and dont know what to do about things.....
bush and blair will make sure that someone will pay for an attack on "the civilized world". maybe it will be people in africa because this gives them an excuse to ignore the urgency of that situation. maybe it will be some little girl in an afghan or iraqi village that will become a part of the insurgency bodycount. perhaps it will just be arms an legs though. what happened in london was horrible. but to mistake revenge for justice shows how far we are from living with compassion and justice. muchpeace to you.
Well the threads have already started trying to piece together some kind of conspiracy. It involves Israel too... how fuck convienent. These people need to be pushed down a flight of stairs.
Oh no, the race is about to start all over again... please, leaders of the free world, Mr. Bush, Mr. Blair, Mr. Chirac, serenity now!
my cousin is a photigrapher for national geographic in their london office. we have yet to get a hold of him. I'm sure he was unharmed; I mean logically speaking what are the chances that he was harmed. But I have dual citizenship in England and the majority of my family lives there so im very upset. Also, I was supposed to go with my grandmother to visit my family in janruary and chose not to go and now its going to be some time untill i feel safe making another visit. im very upset.
This one reminds me of the madrid bombings more than 9-11, and Americans were saying the same bullshit to them about how much worse 9-11 was, those kind of people can fuck off.
Still none the wiser why you appreciated my thoughts, but thanks anyway. I think i did not express my POV in the last part, i don't believe the goverment was trying to keep us in fear. I was trying to say anything ongoing about the level of 'panic' we should be in, would make 'us' (sweeping generalisation) that we had something to worry about continualy. Today proves we DO have something to worry about. 'We' think we should not be worried and the notion the goverment had/has is overblown.
