Body shot thread.

I am one of the four people who thumbed it down, only because it hurt my eyes and made me feel temporarily ill. It has nothing to do with homophobia. I don't care what people -- gay or straight -- do behind closed doors, as long as I don't have to see it.

 

This is a body shot thread. And you thumbed down a body shot . If that was two girls you probably wouldn't have thumbed it down (my guess, anyway). It wasn't off topic or anything. Confusing.

That being said, I wouldn't pin you as a homoPHOBE, per se.

 

Something i was wondering....ok so arent people naturally supposed to have a mother and father figure? Like i wonder if same sex couples adopting somehow disenfranchises a child from what his her psyche needs to be a psychologically and emotionally healthy person

It could, but who knows. I think people should at least be able to ask that question without being called homophobic, though.

 

No. No two parents are ever perfect and a high divorce rate between heterosexual couples is case in point.

This is anecdotal and doesn't really prove anything, but my brother used to work for child protection services. It was a horrible, soul sucking job for him and he dealt with a lot of children dealing with psychological and physical trauma. At one point he was assigned to two gay men who were in the process of adopting their foster child. Out of every family he worked with, he thought they were the most emotionally well adjusted.

Kids are a lot more open minded than adults. Something isn't going to be psychologically traumatizing to a kid just because adults perceive it as abnormal. Kids don't really need a lot to be well adjusted - they need parents who aren't selfish, who can provide their basic needs and give them a lot of love. Two same sex parents, one single parent, two heterosexual parents, whatever..they all have an equal chance at succeeding at meeting a child's needs or completely fucking things up.

 

Anywho. I didn't mean to get all serious in the nudie thread. More boobies please.

What I said was tongue-in-cheek and not intended to be taken seriously, just as I am sure you calling people homophobes for thumbing down Shale's post wasn't meant to be taken seriously. However, it's easy to get a rise out of people in here. Some of you are so predictable.

I guess you cannot dislike a gay person, or their picture, because normal rules don't apply to the suffering gay population. But other than that, they are totally equal and same as everyone!

Well if I'd been adopted by two same sex people (I won't use the phrase "parents") I'd have run away.

Its not fair on kids. End of story.
