Body shot thread.

Not here, and I've never posted my face and body in the same shot anywhere. That way, nobody can prove anything.

If I ever win the lottery and don't need a career anymore, that changes everything.

Not even a thin blouse or wet t-shirt? That's a long way from full nudity.

 

Would pictures affect your job?

 

Possibly. A lot of business people are conservative about everything, especially in the American South. In their thinking, they don't always separate personal things from business. Also, facial recognition technology keeps spreading and improving. Fifteen years from now, some people are going to be sitting in job interviews regretting things they've posted online recently. I won't be one of them.

Back in high school, I learned a lot of personal information is best kept on a "need to know" basis among trusted friends. In my work, I only want to be judged on the quality of my work, and the way I get along with people in professional settings. They don't need to know anything else about me.

None of this is anything new, even though the technology has changed. Decades ago, women celebrating Mardi Gras in New Orleans only flashed body parts when they were wearing masks. (This is the big Mardi Gras weekend, so it's on my mind quite a bit.) Some of the traditional masks became quite elaborate and beautiful.

 

Fair enough.
