Well I got my Djarums yesterday: Djarum Blacks. They are pretty good; not as good as I expected though. I was also expecting them to be like 14 bucks, instead they were only 6 something. I will definitely get them again. The thing I hate about them is that I can't smoke my normal cigarette now, Marlboro Reds. I smoked a few Djarums and then I decided to smoke a marlboro. That was the worst tasting cigarette I've ever had. It was like I smoking really thick paper while pouring cigarette additives down my throat. I didn't see any Nat Shermans at the tobacco shop. I didn't see anything actually; I was just so focused on the fact that I was in a nice little tobacco shop(never been to any tobacco shops) trying to get cigarettes that I have never seen or tried before.

to be honest kreteks are worse for you by far than regular cigarettes, even mainstream chemical-laden tailormades available the world over. they taste wonderful, smell wonderful, and are a hell of a nice, relaxing smoke....i have a love for proper clove cigarettes even though i try my hardest to avoid all cigarettes in general, and when i smoked cigarettes regularly i'd only rarely smoke them

but kreteks tend to be higher in tar and nicotine than most cigarettes, and after smoking a few packs in a row you'll definitely notice it being a bit more irritating to the respiratory system

Yea, I've read that they are worse for you. Not only because of the harsh smoke but because cloves, the actual spice not the cig, they have a chemical in them that does something to fuck with your air ways when you smoke them.
You guys say the shermans with the long filters have some charcoal in them? I've smoked cigarettes that have charcoal before, they are called Quests. They are cigarettes to help you quit smoking, I think. They are like air when you inhale.

Hey has anyone ever seen this, I think it's pretty funny http://totallyabsurd.com/cheesefilteredcigarette.htm

i dont know if nat shermans have charcoal in them; someone said they have sand or something in the filter, and it reminded me of some imported (european) pall malls i bought a carton of once when i still smoked heavily. basically some of the worlds popular brands are made in different countries with different tobaccos, thus different blends and tastes.

at least for a while, it was relatively easy for americans to purchase cartons of cigarettes from europe without paying any taxes. the cigarettes were sometimes european brands, sometimes american brands made in europe (and thus totally different from their american counterparts)

they usually came from eastern european countries. you'd pay anywhere from 15-25 dollars for a carton of cigarettes, and since cigarettes are so lightweight the shipping was extremely affordable. i think i bought two cartons of smokes once (camel milds and pall mall filters) from europe. they dont sell camel milds in america, but they are just what they say they are. milder cigarettes but they still have the satisfaction of a fuller bodied cigarette. medium bodied, medium flavored, and with a normal nicotine level in general, if i remember right. they were mild - not light.

the pall malls were TOTALLY different than american pall malls. they DID have charcoal in the filter. they were also higher in tar and nicotine. if the charcoal made any difference, then the tobacco contained within was exceptionally strong and heavy for cigarette tobacco, as though they tasted good they were very high in tar and nicotine levels.

mgs of tar and mgs of nicotine are printed on the packs of many european cigarettes. i dont know if its all of europe or just some countries, but gauloise, gitanes, fortunas, and all the american brands manufactured in europe i've smoked have carried this information on the box. i dont remember if its listed on dunhills, though.

anyway the cigarettes i used to smoke with charcoal in the filters were still worse for you than normal. if the charcoal made a beneficial effect at removing some of the nasty components of the smoke, then the tobacco used had to be particularly bad for you.

i find either option equally possible (that the tobacco was particularly damaging or that the charcoal did little to nothing to help with filtering tar and nicotine)

cigarettes are most pleasant while tripping, its true. almost a prerequisite, like having a warm comfy blanket if you're cold or the ability to strip nude if you're too hot.....

just a basic comfort that i like to have available when tripping. next time i trip, i might get some cigarettes for the evening....i wish they still made izmir stingers...i'd probably get pall malls, dunhills, or sampoerna x-tras....maybe turkish silvers instead, so i could smoke a lot...and hell, i havent had players lights in a few years...

who knows what i'll get. but it will be before too very long.

    yah man
I dont know what is so peaceful about smoking a cigerrette while your tripping. Most the time I find tobacco very disgusting and hate to smoke cigerettes but when your tripping they can save you from having a bad trip if your on the verge. Very calming but overall disgusting IMO.
