On this subject, I agree wholeheartedly with Chris Rock's bit about black people vs niggas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3PJF0YE-x4&feature=related"]Chris Rock - Black People VS. Niggaz (Bring the Pain 1996) - YouTube "Niggas" are a sub-group of black people. I wouldn't even say they're the majority. But they're the ones everyone likes to focus on when discussing race. That's like only talking about back-woods hillbillies and uptight Martha's Vineyard white people when talking about whites. I really wish both sides would move on when it comes to race. When it comes down to it, the amount of melanin in your skin has no effect on your behavior. Culture does, but at a certain point individuals have to stop blaming their culture for their own fucked up behavior. Violence is a huge problem in many black communities, and that's not racism, that's just statistically. Policies instituted by Whites who work in government might be partially to blame for the overall situation, but when you look at all the cold-blooded killings that go on, most of it black-on-black crime--that's not anyone's fault but the person who did it. Same goes for violence in white communities. If I were black, I wouldn't focus my energy on "fuck the police" and "the man." I would be looking at the individuals who are committing these horrifically violent acts. After all, in these violent areas, for the most part, it's other black people who live there that have to worry about being killed, not whites. And black people aren't the only culture to stick to themselves. I lived in San Francisco for four years, you know how many Asian friends I made? None, because when I tried to, they just weren't interested. Daly City nearby is 80% Filipino. That's not an accident. I'm not saying it's wrong, in fact I think sticking with your own subculture in America is normal, as long as your not intentionally shunning other groups.
This statement is just useless. It would make the exact same point if you just said that some people are ignorant and not racist, because when you throw the classification of american black people you're making a blanket statement. The truth is that for any behavior, there is a group of people that represents it. This group can consist of any race. It doesn't matter. When you start to try to associate a group of people who act a certain way with one single race, you begin to create a stereotype, which is racist. I can guarantee that there are more people of any race than you can even imagine who exhibit the behavior which you dislike. Certainly, I'm not denying that there is a group of black americans who are ignorant, but to even suggest that there's a direct correlation between a person's race and their behavior is overtly racist, which is my original point. If you must make an accurate statement in regards to this issue, why not just say " I hate ignorant people" because it seems like that's the truth. I'm not accusing you of being racist, but the way you're wording this is, and it's this kind of misunderstanding that prolongs the racist mindset. No one should believe that race predisposes a person to act a certain way. It's simply not true. A person is a person is a person. I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together, you know?
Are you still a racist if you don't like other races, but at the same time don't consider yours to be superior? Are you still a racist if you love and accept other races, but consider your own to be superior? Where is the line? What is the definition?
No. Yes "Racism is generally understood as either belief that different racial groups are characterized by intrinsic characteristics or abilities and that some such groups are therefore naturally superior to others," http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racism
I've wanted to date a black woman for a number of years now, but it seems they are hard to find. At least any worth respecting.
I know plenty of black people that are racist. That call country white boys- Pig farmers. That call poor white people- Trailer Trash. That Call old white men -Kikes. If you are not aware it is racist to say that black people aren't racist.
Personally I think every one is a little racist. The people that are the most racist are the ones who act shocked and appalled when they think someone else is being racist. The worst racist are the ones that be friend people of other race's just so they can say they aren't racist! -I hate those RACIST!
I think there's a difference in a comment that happens to be racist (like the thread title) and a person actually being racist. That everyone has the ability to make a racist comment is not a big deal, just like I think for example that you can make a good joke that happens to involve race. When the joke is only about discriminating a race that's when the maker can be viewed as having racist tendencies. I rather see hypocrites having black friends because they don't want to be (perceived) racist than seeing people act openly racist by discriminating peeps from other races negatively.
We’re natural born pacifists and it was the white man’s influence on our culture which ultimately changed our behavior. From them we learned greed, avarice, gluttony, sloth, pride, envy, wrath, etc… Hotwater
QF-somewhat-T I don't think everyone is a little racist.. but I can definitely stand by the statement "Everyone is a little ignorant".. which someone said earlier.. is the predecessor to racism
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISN1RCxko2Q&feature=related"]Extermination of white people? - YouTube hilarious. these are meant to be people in a position of power some black people like some white people are disgusting.
Of course FoxNews would have some kooky black dude on screaming about exterminating all white people.. I'm sure they could find a black person to talk to that would want to exterminate all black people
and? lol that still makes a person racist. a white talking about the extermination of whites is a racist.
