THIS JUST IN: Breaking news....NFL cuts one team! The NFL announced today that for financial reasons they had to eliminate one team from the league. They have decided to combine the Green Bay Packers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and form one team causing many lay offs, but, saving millions of dollars in costs. They will rename this new team and will now be known as the TAMPACKS. Unfortunately, they are only good for one period and have no second string...

Well good for them, I'm glad to hear it. Are you a cop?

My boyfriend's stepdad is a cop, hes a nice guy. A great cop. I'm honestly not trying to demonize all police officers. But I am familiar with the police community through him and so I do see how cops close rank when one of their own does something bad. It happens. Also saw it happen with another aquaintance of the family after he pissed on a homeless man while on duty. He's still employed, he shouldnt be.

But I'm getting off topic, my main point was that most black people have stories about being profiled, harassed , even brutalized in hopefully rare cases and a lot of people just don't want to listen to them, they just want to keep their blinders on and chalk it up to them just being thugs or whatever. I think thats sad

Not yet. I'm two steps away from becoming one with the agency I applied to.

Have you heard the other side of the story of theses alleged harassments and such?

I feel bad when I see Baron in photos.

He'll probably end up an Cheetah killing sociopath like his older brother. But for now he's just a kid growing up in a zoo of narcissists.

Trump's credentials for talking about what football player are doing in regards to the anthem, are hosting the Celebrity Apprentice, and by winning a democratic election by -2.1%.

The NFL didn't have athletes out on the field for the anthem until 2009.

While this insane thing plays out, there are 3.5 million Americans without power for a week in Puerto Rico.

That may be the case, such that countries with higher poverty than the US don't have the same social problems. But I think you'll find their government doesn't afford them the same liberties. At what point do we trade our liberties for lower crime? Do we want to have a "1984" scenario. I think you'll find that in countries where you cut off a mans hand for stealing, that there is much less theft. But what kind of society is that? Very punitive. And does the punishment fit the crime? What about the criminal? It's easy to point the finger, but if it were you, you would be less quick to say it were a fitting punishment.

I think poverty is at the root, VG, in many cases.

LOL They play the national anthem before sporting events and invite championship-winning teams to the White House. But it's the players that are to blame for brining politics into sports? Lame.

All the people complaining about politics in sports should be campaigning to ban the singing of the national anthem.

National Anthem has been played at sporting events for a long time. Thankfully theres no baseball teams staying in the club house for it or Clayton Kershaw taking a knee on the mound during it :)

    I thought about it..

I think the entitlement is part of it

I think the black community within a historical context is part of it, people act like you just recover immediately from the effects of 100 years of apartheid following 400 years of slavery but it isnt that simple. Some of the people in charge of hiring for companies and following equal opportunity employment laws were alive during the Jim Crow days, people forget that. As if that mentality magically goes away. Some older cops had to enforce JIm Crow laws once upon a time, let that sink in

But I think it is deeper than that in ways I cant really formulate into words. I think America has a deep rooted cultural rot. This is something that has bothered me for a while but I cant put my finger on it exactly. Our education system is fucked and we're pumping out people incapable of critical thinking, t hats part of it for sure.

This stupid NFL thing is a good example of what I think is wrong, look where American's priorities lie. People are having a fit over this instead of worrying about something that actually matters. Kaepernick kneeled to bring awareness to something that actually matters but unfortunately it backfired spectacularly on him and people are more concerned with him kneeling than the actual issue he is trying to bring attention to.

They're more concerned with a piece of cloth than what that cloth actually represents

Fear is a part of it...not a big fan of Michael Moore but that was pretty much his entire thesis in Bowling for Columbine and I thought he was spot on. Americans are scared and our news-for-profit model only fuels that

Anyways this is one big convoluted post, I'm mostly thinking out loud

Remarks like this is why I regard you as one of the biggest victims of both political correctness and the sensationalizing media (which includes social media these days naturally). Rarely i saw someone letting themselves getting played by the headlines as you. Certainly on these forums. Congrats :p

More like America is fucked, BLM FUCKED it!

Naive fools blinded by delusional politically correct media, fixated on the pseudo moral cause of championing for thugs who get killed acting a fool in front of cops, drop the ball and let a crooked moron get elected.

The fact that nobody in the mainstream media has the balls to say that a movement founded on supporting a violent criminal who got killed trying to kill a cop... is absolutely fucked up and racist BULLSHIT!!!!

You really can't shove it all on BLM how fucked America is and expect to be taken seriously. BLM is more like one symptom than the main cause.
