The taste does depend on the card/paper, but mainly it's what the acid is made in. To be pretty brief about it as i'm not an expert in any way. Most liquid acid will be made in alcohol (Specific measurements of Crystal Acid will be added to specific volumes of the liquid.) Crystal Acid completely converts alcohol to liquid LSD, usually one drip of the liquid is a dose, or it is made in a solution and soaked into tabs (If you get a choice of tabs always choose the ones in the corners as it runs to there and you get a better hit) but anyway, Acid is made in alcohol so the different "tastes" are that. The last stuff I had tasted like Gin, it was horrible but the trip was amazing =)
It could have easily been double dipped stuff, I know of people who have been completely out of reality for 16 hours straight on 1 double dipped tab... Could explain the stronger taste too?
double dipped is bullshit. if you did it once, it absorbs the maximum amount. you can put twice as much hit on one sheet vs. the next, but you would do it with a single dip. by adjusting the calculation at the beginning. and you should say that acid is "diluted" in alcohol, not made in it.
Me and my friend got some pretty funky tasting "acid" one time, and he knew from the get go that there was something not right. He thought it was some kind of research chemical, so we went out to test the acid, and he was correct. I honestly forget which research chemical it was, but it's like K2 of acid.
