And we broke $500. I hope the price will crash soon so I can buy more. We've seen now what the price is capable of, next time it takes off like this I wanna be loaded with BTC.

If people actually understood bitcoin, it would be outlawed. It is the worst invention since death camps.

    An explanation is warranted here.

Bitcoin is like a group of rich assholes who decide a 40 acre crop of corn only contains one kernel worth harvesting, and set fire to the rest, to hell with the starving less fortunate! Oh, and also, in 6 months it needs to be 1 kernel out of an 80 acre crop...

We all have an obligation to do what's right for this planet, especially those of us with more resources than others. To say "well it's my energy and I'll burn it how I want", is just fucking ignorant and selfish and a "1%" way of thinking. Bitcoin is greed, ignorance and destruction. Buy yourself a hummer for your daily commute and plow full throttle into the impending energy apocalypse!

Dance like marionettes, swaying to the symphony of destruction.

*Edit* - I just realized my analogy ratio is a bit off, considering the past 6 moths of mining it would actually be more like 400 acres of corn, not 80.

So the energy it takes to mine bitcoins is your only argument against it?
How much energy do you think the current economic systems uses; you think banks run on air? That mining gold is done by dwarfs with pickaxes and transported by unicorns?

I won't deny that mining bitcoins uses a lot of energy. What are your economical suggestions/solutions then? Go back to a system of bartering, get rid of banks and governments altogether?

Of course not, it's unpractical to use unicorns for that.

Banking computer servers don't throw away 99.999999999% of their processor tasks in a ludicrous lottery scheme. That is such a BS argument! How many billions of times MORE energy would be used if all systems converted to a crypto currency processor lottery scheme?

Mainstreaminisation has begun. Still time to get aboard and be an early adopter. Choo choo.

Enjoy the rollercoaster ride as it plummets downwards. I hope you got the stomach for that kind of rides!

(back to $500 now, coming from $900 just 12 hours ago)

Actually there is something about not blaming the poor in the whole debate. Illinois should do well on that point.

The system of incentive may also continue to encourage people to apply consumerist ideals against the present employment production ideals. (???)

I was going to donate to you but I decided I might as well just skip you and send my money directly to China. Sorry, it's just a few billion times more efficient that way.
