How long you here for in Holland? Did you know it is the zomer feest next week in Nijmegen? It is massive and free for the whole week. About a million people come for it, it's the biggest party in the world.

 

He's right actually. Amsterdam is getting really bad for muggings these days. Donot under any circumstance walk down any long side streets alone, have eyes on the back of your head at all times. I nearly got mugged a few weeks ago but I didn't have my head up my arse and I sussed the bastards out before I had walked too far down the narrow alleyway. Watch out, but don't get paranoid about it, just be aware of this.

Don't be, just don't walk down long alleys on your own, that's where the muggers target people, it's the same as with any tourist hot spot really. You'll be totally fine when you get there and walk down the Damrak and see loads of people on holiday, trust me.
