yeah I think I might, thanks for the advice. Will wait until I have something to take pictures with though. Fuck I havnt even been out to the plants in two weeks, going to go out tomorrow and check on em though
just went out about 30 mins ago and my two nicest are now deseased, got rid of 2 males but 6 seeds that I threw into empty pots two weeks ago have all come up and are looking good. Also two that I didnt have high hopes for have turned fairly big and bushy but still wilted with a few dead leaves. Going to re-pot them this week as the roots are starting to appear out the bottom of the pots
Well I'll see tomorrow, going to go out and have a look at them. Finally got a camera so there will be new pics tomorrow aswell. Theres been a bit of monsoon type weather going on though so im interested in seeing how they've weathered it. We'll all see tomorrow anyway I spose. Havnt actually seen them since my last post which was a few weeks ago so hopefully they've survived ok. It would be nice to go out there and find 10 big bushy plants will just have to wait and see..
Mixed news with the plants. Down to three from the origional 11 all female but the stems the whole way up are more or less completely bare. Nothing I've done has stopped the slugs and its only the top few sets of leaves that remain on two of them. One isnt as bad though but still shows signs of slug raping. Then as I was about to leave again I noticed the greenhouse. Completely forgot about the 8th gen Irish outdoor homegrown seeds I was given. Two healthy looking plants with no slug damage. I have pictures which I'll add to this post in a minute when I find the lead for the camera. You can see the slug damage...really bad on that one, I think thats the worst. You can also see the third plant in the background but I was in a hurry and cicnt get a pic of it. More slug damage, bad but not as bad as the other one. This really shows just how fucked it is. Would be a lovely plant if I stopped the slugs from the start, trial and error I suppose. I know next time anyway
These two however seem to have escaped the slugs. The gravels working. They're the two Irish outdoor plants. I have good hopes for these two one thing I am worried about is the green tinge of the perlite. What would be causing that? The weathers been shit aswell the last few weeks. In some parts of the country two weeks worth of rain fell in an hour. For Ireland thats really bad. Its been monsoon like conditions. Its been sunny so far today though so hopefully that will perk them up a bit. Next time I go out im wrapping copper wire around the base of the stems, adding sand to the top layer of soil and nuking the ground around the pots with slug repellant. I'll beat the slugs one way or another. The origional three still have a few months to pick up again though so im hoping if I can stop the slugs for good that the plants will fill out again
Havnt been out there since. Definitely going out thursday with a lot more gravel though...that seems to work quite well
This is from about two weeks ago 2nd good plant from two weeks ago. You can see a bit of leaf damage to the left. If anyone has any input on that one it'd be good to know Oh shit. Been neglecting the old grow thread a bit all fixed now. Down (basically) to the last two plants in the mini greenhouse. Both starting to bud and both doing well. Might get an 8th each off the other scraggy ladies
Took this today at 7am Looking and smelling lovely, starting to get a bit of a purple tinge to it now aswell. A bit blurry but you get the idea Very pleased about them getting this far. First grow so wasnt expecting much, not going to count my chickens before they've hatched though so hopefully there wont be any problems in the coming weeks. What do ye think? You been growing this year rocklobster? Would like to know how your getting on if you are since we're pretty much dealing with the same climate.
this was likely moss forming in your perlite. two years ago i did a small outdoor grow, and after a 4 day rain streak many of the buckets had a greenish tint that seemed to be coming from the perlite. after the rain passed, and weather improved (sun & clouds for the next week or better) the moss in the pots had gone away. extreme moisture is pretty conducive to moss growth, so that was likely it.. its really not a big deal, and seems to take care of itself outdoors when the weather improves ....however i just looked at the date you posted that and it was from July so on another note.. your plants look great good to see people growing their own smoke - i just started growing my own like two summers ago, and i now have that newfound closeness with my cannabis... i created it again very nice work- it was really cool reading your thread and follow your grow from its infancy to now. so any more updates? new pics? definitely make another grow journal like this if you decide to grow again next year- im looking forward to reading it
Harvested one of the small plants last saturday, a bit premature but it was only about 4 grams...one of the really shit plants Dried it in the oven aswell but it was really lovely stuff. Can't wait till I have the others hanging up drying properly, they should be done this week I'd say. Didnt get any bud shots was a bit caned and forgot haha. Going to be going out every day or two from now on though to get the perfect time to bring them in. Will get pics next time im out :cheers2: chad
Went to grow some shizz about two years ago, but gave up due to the poor english weather. Glad someone an alright grow
Ah im working with the Irish climate...doesnt get much shitter than that haha, ah but in fairness the weather has been quite good this year, going to have a properly controlled grow in the same spot next year of about 40 plants so hopefully there will be a nice haul off that. :cheers2: thanks to all who took the time to read and follow this amature first grow...was a pretty scattered thread aswell but next year there will be a much more detailed thread and grow. Sorry my enter key decided to stop working so its all one paragraph but there will be bud shots on the way soon hopefully by the end of next week. In the meantime its 2am, im completely hammered and I have to be up at 6am so im off to hit the hay, next post will be accompanied by bud shots and Luketrials if me, a 17 year old, is able to get nice weed (not much but still....) from a half assed grow in this shitty weather than im sure you can aswell
