hellfire is easily justified when you learn the fall of satan. one of gods angels sinned against gods creation was thrown out of heaven to in the end be left to a eternal doom. If god would do that do his beloved angel why wouldnt he do that to man who has freewill and refuses to worship god.

I figure though all will hide from the wrath of god and convert and be forgiven

It's hardly the same thing Satan was perfect when he used his free will against God and although mankind does have free will, mankind is not perfect. It's kind of like comparing apples and oranges.

man was perfect before the fall, everything god had made was good and no original sin was mentioned before the fall of adam

Yep but I believe the only two humans that were perfect, besides Jesus were Adam and Eve and yes, they will suffer the same fate as Satan but when you ask; "why wouldnt he do that to man who has freewill and refuses to worship god"? My answer is still because all mankind after Adam and Eve are imperfect and thus can not be held to the same standard as those who were perfect when they sinned.

    i dunno.

Based on the music and language that i do not understand, I might even guess that it is culturally traditional placed within a christian context.

I will admit, it is not my own.

I think it is very interesting it came from atheism.about.com.

The only thing that gives it away really (and not even that strongly) is the little dig at the end.

it is partially why i find the practice of receiving the Blessed Sacrament of Holy Communion while kneeling to be so spiritually fulfilling and a great sign of our devotion to god. I believe that Christ literally commands us to eat him in substance of the consecrated host, and so we should kneel before him. But also it puts the communicant in the position of powerlessness before God. We are at the mercy of the minister of communion to receive this blessed gift from God. The minister places the host on our tongue, we are totally submissive in the scenario. i totally get people not wanting to for health and germ reasons, but I like the practice.

On the topic of original sin, I like this bit of explanation: The Church teaches that original sin comes to the soul simply from the new person taking his nature from one whose nature itself had original sin. In this way, the Church argues that original sin is not imputing the sin of the father to the son; rather, it is simply the inheritance of a wounded nature from the father, which is an unavoidable part of reproduction.

This is the problem with trying to be holy. The focus is still on yourself. There's a freedom that comes from giving up power. Maybe this freedom is what Jesus was refering to when he said "first".

What is Christianity's stance on the forgiveness of there sins based on the suffering of another human being?

Was the end of the "fleshy" Christ the only time it has (had?) occurred?

If there was still in this day, as there was in past history, courts held by the various christian denominations would offering up a "whipping boy" to pay for ones crime be acceptable if both parties were in agreement?

Would that not truly be following Christ and suffering for your fellow mans sins?

It sounds gruesome to me, and full of quite mortal and cynical short sighted logic, not divine inspiration in the least.

So why is the moral stance of such an action different for the supposed vicarious redemption through human sacrifice in Christianity?

Why does it only work that one way, or is vicarious redemption still considered to be a noble act?

Sorry, the best answer to this is probably, that for those who want to believe there is plenty of evidence that God exists and for those who don't want to believe there is plenty of evidence that God doesn't exist.

If you wish I can give you some of the reasons I believe he exists and I'm sure there are others who can give you reasons why he doesn't exist or you can just look though the threads on the subject.
