most of my favorites have been mentioned.. lennon, zappa, dylan, morrison, cohen, stipe, biafra, simon, wilson, waters.. etc. but there's still ani difranco, who i totally love, and johnny cash. i really like fiona apple too, but she doesn't rank as high as most of the people in this thread.. she gets honourable mention. another honourable mention goes to matt good. im not a huge fan of his music, but he writes killer lyrics. and jakob dylan's pretty awesome too, takes after his daddy so yeah... that's my two cents. or five cents. naw, two cents, im cheap
