Starz was a relatively unknown band of the late 70's and early 80's from New York. They put out I think 5 studio albums, Coliseum Rock being the 3rd album. Coliseum Rock, the song, is an instrumental, which then ties in with the next song called It's A Riot. Starz did re-unite a couple of years ago for a short reunion and a few live shows. They do have a website and have re-released all their albums on to cd. I dont think the band as a whole is that good of a band, but I do like the Coliseum Rock album very much.
I've finished my top ten 01. Comfortably Numb – David Gilmour/Pink Floyd 02. The Interworld and the New Innocence* – Buckethead/Praxis 03. What God Wants (Part 3) – Jeff Beck/Roger Waters 04. Concerto – Jason Becker & Marty Friedman/Cacophony 05. Hollow Years* - John Petrucci/Dream Theater 06. Altitudes – Jason Becker 07. Animal Behavior – Buckethead/Praxis 08. One Day* - Martin Taylor 09. Machine Gun* - Jimi Hendrix/Band of Gypsys 10. Layla – Duane Allman/Derek and the Dominos To the person who started this thread - if you like more bluesy/hard rock type stuff, then I would recommend Derek Trucks (The Derek Trucks Band, The Allman Brothers Band), Rory Gallagher, Gary Moore, Johnny Winter, Jeff Healey, Mike Blookfield, and then the obvious ones - Jimi, SRV, Duane Allman.
I know, I hate how guitarists don't do pointless shows of their instrumental 'virtuosity' anymore...Even though they unfortunately do. :nopity: .
