My Opinion; Although, cliche, Dark Side of the Moon for suree... When's the last time you tripped to it? Let it play all the way through with big, legit headphones screaming into your brain? AMAZING. Although the Doors never made any specifically trippy FULL albums, listening to them while dosing is the BEST. Self-titled, The Soft Parade, Waiting for the Sun and LA Woman all have their moments... but of course I'm biased haha. Cheers.
Any body ever listen to "Her Satanic Majesties Request" by the Stone? It was pretty much panned but I loved it.
You mean "Their Satanic Majesties Request" ? Yes, very unique and experimental. Read a review recently comparing it to Sgt. Peppers...interestingg. Anyway yeah, like that one too.
You should check out "Share A Smile" which is comprised of the Beach Boys versions along with using all the studio snippets of few second sound effects to smooth over into the next song. I would guess it was the closest SMiLE would have been in 1966, although no one knows the definitive answer to that legendary puzzle. Then throw in The Who Sell Out.
In case you dont remember this is what you do! Get up outta bed now! that album has brought many a friend out of a bad trip its sooooo good!
hhmmmmm some of my favs would be..... hendrix's electric ladyland the beatles sgt pepper anything by the doors talking heads remain in light. (i consider this a psychedelic album some might not) and when i go on a psychedelic journey i almost always throw on a good dead or phish bootleg show
The Dark Side of The Moon by Pink Floyd or Electric Music For The Mind And Soul by Country Joe and The Fish.
One song that most people don't thing of as psychedelic is Harry Nilsson's Jump into the fire...........check it out on YT if you have time
this is one of the longest-running threads that is still relevant! Well done Gonzo! Im gonna add the Charlatans to the list, very trippy even if not a mainsteam psych. Oh yeah, that Brian Wilson guys Smile album is pretty good too
I know it's probly over used but if I'm on my trip I prefer Dark Side of the Moon, but really any Floyd album will do it right for me. Keep on keepin' on ya'll music men...
