Pete Townshend was an awsome song writer, but his guitar skills were not that great. But he did play a mean banjo

For my choice it would be jerry, santana or george harrison. Think its because they have their own style. You can really tell its them when you hear em play. if you know what I mean.

Pete Townshend plays really great acoustic, though. He's kind of a bob dylan of rock, as opposed to what dylan did for folk music and folk-rock.

Yeah, I have a video of The Sky Is Crying on my computer of BB King, Albert King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Paul Butterfield on blues harp. :D It's great... Also, I have some awesome ones of Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton... Don't Think Twice, Crossroads... etc. I think it was recorded at Madison Square Garden. I've been there once... :p

I've been in the sixth row and the lobby. :D I went to see Willie Nelson while staying with my cousins in upstate new york. I was on spring break a few years ago and my old neighbors had a son who worked at MSG and my parents told his parents, he got us tickets, and we stayed in NYC for a week at this odd, really abstract, hotel. :p

Where did you live in NYC?

I lived back and forth in between Stanten Island and South Harlem... the story behind that seems to confuse people, but I'll share if ya want to hear it :p

Where in upstate new york were your cousins? When my dad first got stationed there, we lived in military housing in ft drum and gouvernuer for a couple months.

I am glad to see Mr. Keller Williams listed before I could get to it. I have ever seen anyone play something that Keller cant play, most the time he makes it better!

My cousins lived a little bit west of Watertown, New York. Near Lake Erie, across from Kingston, Ontario. Oddly, I've never been to Lake Erie, though. One of my cousins moved to Rochester, I believe.

Yeah... Keller is the best 12, 10, and 16 string player I've ever heard.

The most obvious answer is Mr.Jimi (technically speaking)

But my favourite is David Gilmour.

Steve Cropper is really good too... he's with Booker T and The MGs, Joe Walsh is also very underrated. Joe Walsh is one of my favorite funk/blues guitarists. Robbie Robertson and Rick Danko, as well.

I think the bassist (guy with fro in sig) or the guitarist (cody) of the blood brothers are one of the best... but mostly becuase its just so originall... all the time signatures and stuff, just makes it a lot more interesting.

I'm starting to doubt most people even know who a lot of these people were. A few are piano/shit harp players. Hell, some don't even play guitar, but were influential to me and many others, anyway. Most are folk and blues. The royalty, B.B. King, Albert King, Freddy King, and the likes... etc. Some I've already named but I just can't leave them out. I sat down an hour and a half or so ago and thought up the most influencial musicians in my life... I really don't care if they don't play guitar or not. I'd have to say our very own meg* marcella is a great inspiration to me. I listen to her and many others and I hear a foundation of generations and generations of history and music that some other people may or may not hear. I'd have to say Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan have done more for my musical tastes and inspirations than any other well-known musician, but truly, none of these people are the greatest ever. Two oddballs that have also inspired me are Jimmy Buffett and Alan Jackson, because, without them, I wouldn't have discovered some great blues, country, folk, and bluegrass. Alan Jackson's song, Midnight In Montgomery, first inspired me at the age of six. You go back, and back, and back. You can't always try to play like someone else, play like yourself. Some may see me as an egomaniac or a musical snob, but I don't think I can give up my meaning of life, nor do I really give a damn about what other people see me as, relating to music.
