Best form of government?

Eh, while the overall system is different, the US and Britain still have the first past the post system. I'd say it's electoral system over governmental system that makes the most difference.

 

So Texans shouldn't have a say? A rational Federal law would be to mandate that all states provide all citizens between the ages of X and Y a basic education. The States, under the direction of their citizens then should have the power allowed by their citizens to assure that the Federal law is applied as desired by their citizens, Texans, Californians, or other states.

 

Don't we have a Parliamentary system as well?

 

I dont feel there is a perfect form of government. Until we get rid of banks, and IF we are bound to use some source of Income and not go back to the old ways of society (a man is worth his amount in work)then we need to get rid of banks (especially the World and The Fed). Behind every Great Dictator (even presidents are dictators with masks, dont let em fool yah) there are 100 bankers, who control every aspect of this world. Some of you understand the UCC code. alot of others dont, the freedom starts when you stand up for your rights, dissolve all forms of I.D. and become a true person. INSIDE, and OUT. How can people blame dictators, for what they do? Everything is connected, you can only blame yourself, because of the things you hide behind, your failures, your negative energy, it projects itself onto society. everytime a hateful thing is said, it projects through numerous amounts of people, not just through you. We as a people, will never get anywhere, until we all, come together as one, and understand our relationship, WE ARE ALL ONE!! and our planet, and the solar system and stars, we are all interconnected. it goes deeper then politics. Politics arent going to save humans. Technology is not going to save humanity either. A man is free when he is born, due to his inalienable rights under god. To force a government onto man only brings about Repression, and when you cause repression, you cause Egos to build, and negative energy to flow. I believe, if we all went back to our roots, and connected with our true selves, we would find the answer we need. Consciously we are all connected. Fear, and negativity brings about war and destruction. Brings about Tyranny and Evil. Thats what i believe.

 

From the current U.S. view of democracy, it would appear to be defined as simply majority rule in selecting representatives, and 50% plus 1 vote when possible in passing laws with the allowance of vote purchasing in order to achieve the desired results.

 

A bunch of religious conservatives trying to rewrite accepted history to suit their religious goals in a state that has great impact on the textbook market across the country, no, they shouldn't have a say. Jesus christ you take out Thomas Jefferson because he was in fact a liberal enlightened thinker and puts the biggest hole in the founding fathers were guided by Christianity theory, you call McCarthyism a valid reaction of the times and uphold the benefits and glory of the free market and how Reagan helped save the country. That's not history, that's propaganda by a bunch of evangelical nutjobs who have been trying for years and went into overdrive this year after the tea baggers started popping up, and these asinine books are going to find their ways into other states.

The irony here is even Virginia is pissed off since Jefferson is gone.

What is truly ironic is when a 23 year old presents modern liberal propaganda as facts of history to a 75 year old who in many cases is speaking of life experiences as opposed to book learning. I don't know what is in todays school books, but it obviously is not right wing propaganda, which you and many others of your age appear to suffice as proof. If you really wish to learn history, read what was written at the time the events of history occurred, and even then try to find both sides view of the events.

 

I notice that Fascism isn't listed (though Communism is).

Or is Fascism understood to be the same as Republic?

 

Most importantly I think the poll results show just how little many people understand democracy and the inherit abuses it permits.
