I believe in kissing my kids and hubby daily. I believe that friendship bonds can certainly be stronger than family. I believe that music should be considered a form of religion. I believe that mother's should breastfeed. I believe people should not use cell phones when driving. I believe our education system is flawed beyond repair. I believe in both Eastern and Western medicine. I believe in karma and treating people the way I would like to be treated. I am a very happy agnostic. I believe that child molester's should suffer a terrible consequence for their actions decided by the parents or the child.
I feel that any sort of ...( dont really know how to phrase it, but feeling you are a better classification of humans)are unnecessary. In the same category as my dislike for racial pride, people (in this case, women) demand respect for being a woman, and in my opinion, try to advance past men because of it. There is a place for men in society, and a place for women. The basis of these views is the principal of evolution. Men ARE built stronger, (Im only using this as an example) And always will be better athletes. Women athletes, however, succeed because they are female, not because they are good. Do you get what I mean? Most of the people Ive talked to, (MOST, in not saying everyone is like this) but they insist that Women are better than men because they arent treated as equals, but instead of wanting equality, they want to get ahead because they are female. The same thing with Races, Ill use minorities as an example. Anyway, black people, and all minorities, are granted scholarships for being a minority. The worst thing to be in America is a middle class white male. Your not poor enough to get stuff handed to you, but not rich enough to do the opposite, and your white and male, so no one feels bad for you. This whole sex-pride and racial-pride is all just a pity-party asking for freebies because they are what they are, not because they deserve it. So, I wouldnt say that I am for or against any one race or sex, but to say that feminists as a whole want 'equal' treatment is just silly. They ask to get ahead, and ask for people to feel sorry for them. No one wants equality. Now, I dont want to start an argument. It is hard to tell over the internet, but my attitude with this is positive. You asked my opinion, and you got it. The direction I would want this to go in is an open conversation of opinion sharing, not trying to win or loose. Everyone here is welcome to their opinion, and so am I.
Wow there's a lot of big lists in here....I've got a lot of "beliefs" so to say, but I feel one of them sums up the rest of them fairly well. I believe I know nothing.
When it comes to eating, I believe that eating every part of the animal is just great. I will eat its boiled stomach in my cheese pizza and ground up hooves in my gelatin, why let it go to waste? (I asked my friend once if she wanted water, and she said 'no, I dont believe in water'..she was serious. ) I like this thread. I find it EXTREMELY hard to tell anyone what I think about anything, because no one understands it and someone is always offended. In my life, Ive had one friend that wants to know what I have to think, understand it, and accepts it. Anyway.... I appreciate everyone for listening what I have to say and talking to me about it. =] I believe I am making up half of this thread. Oh well, self expression is a beautiful thing.
Thanks for replying. I just wanted to understand your definition of feminist. The dictionary defines it as someone who believes that men and women are equal. I believe that np in fact knows a lot and has many talents.
I believe in simplicity I believe in being happy. ^^^^ In reference to the fem debate above...well its not really a debate just Sarahs opinion =] I get what your saying. I believe women and men are totally different and our differences should be celebrated not be the center of arguments and equality disputes. Our differences are what make us equal. My hubby is great at fixing my car, doing work on the house, and taking the trash out. And Im a damn good cook and I like a clean house....its those differences that make our home a happy place. I cant stand it when women try to act like men to gain some kind of respect in the work force. This is why I find women like Ani Difranco to be so inspiring....she made it to the top in a male dominated bussiness [the music bizz] but kept her womanly charm and never sold out. Wow...am I rambling now or what?! K...Im done. Toodles. =]
I believe perfection is imperfection I believe the dude abides I believe in the indeterminate and unprovable and not just true and false. I believe the word "is" is misleading and there is no absolute truths, only personal ones that are matters of perception I believe in love I believe in science I believe music will save the world I believe in myself
Daisymelan and Mandyland, I appreciate both of you staying so respectful in your responses. Mandyland---you hit the nail on the head. I agree that it isnt 'equality' that everyone needs to find, its about being happy being who you are.
I believe in God I believe in balance and that everyone must find their own I believe in the power of music I believe in the sound of silence in the strength in weakness I believe in irony and oxymorons I believe there can be no justice without mercy I believe in self expression, when it is honest and real, I believe freedom has to be sacrificed for peace, how much depends on us I believe in miracles
I believe that there is no life after death. (afterlife) I believe that humans are simply organic machines. I believe when you die you're just dead. that being said, I believe in enjoying life while its yours to enjoy. I believe that, sometimes, there is no reason, but by human nature, we always try to create one. I believe the sole purpose of existence, if you have to make one, is simply to exist and experience that existence to the best of your ability. I believe the most important goal in life is to be happy. I believe that a person's outside appearance has little to do with whether that person would be a good person to know or not. I believe in pushing limits. I believe in pushing my own limits. I believe in altering your own perspective and trying to understand the stance of others, no matter how alien it may be to you. I believe in letting others make their own choices and not interfering in them doing so. I believe in personal belief rather than labeling your beliefs under a predetermined set with a title. And finally, I believe in finding your own beliefs through experience instead of taking others word for it.
I'm just glad it's not me who confuses people. Prime examples are you, Luxiebow, SE, Pypes and NP. MM ganja
