Well, sorry for posting on it then. I just thought it looked interesting. So many threads on here that look interesting to me but the last comments were a while ago. Those are supposed to be closed? Hard to get the feel of this place.
Tell us why you think its not, asfandyar. I want to hear your perspective, not looking to fight. I feel personally we have allowed too much power to the banks and big business and that's part of the problem here. What are your thoughts?
Scarlet, I just want to start by saying I agree with everything you said, and what happy dude had to say, except for the part in which he seems to be insinuating your country is 'the land of the free'. I just feel it's a bubble waiting to be burst. There's a lot I could say, but seeing as tho we're going slightly off topic, I'll make one quick point to 'back' my opinion. I think any government who uses tax payers money to terrorize other country's through war, in the name of 'fighting terrorism', is a corrupt, regardless of which puppet master is pulling the strings. I think the fact that they've tried to villainise Mr snowden because he revealed just some of their many dirty secrets shows that there's more to hide. A country who also manipulates situations and blatantly lies via media, brainwashing millions in the process makes me sick to my stomach. Sorry for the rant. No offense intended to anyone. Just to finish closer to the topic at hand, I think as evil and corrupt as the internet can be, I think it is a individuals choice to do what he wishes with it, and rightly so, as the internet is a wonderful thing and a great invention, and technology seems to to evolve in such a amazing way and so rapidly. My only concern is more care should be taken to protect children from the 'bad' of the internet
the bad of the internet is that is a slave . a respected machine has a ghost inside that may defy the authority of programmed humans .
Well, having come from the 'pencil and paper' era, I am amazed at what is available to just about everyone. Folks that are famous or marginally famous have to watch what they say and do as we can see by the fuck-ups that seem to happen every day. I really appreciate the net and frankly--I say what I mean on it every day and hell with the consequences. I found something the other day --Find a Grave--I was able to see ancestors graves in Missouri and elsewhere. Over using the word amazing, but it is.
The key is to not let it control you..... i am pretty much myself on the internet...as well....can get me in a lot of trouble at times, too.... but who gives a shit....? That is my attitude today. I know who I am..... don't need the feedback really....and the bad feedback...i will take...think about and consider....
All very good points above me, and I do see what you mean All very good points indeed. Thank you for clarifying. We are in agreement for the most part. I have recently started noticing what I believe are very possibly regularly patrolling predator drones in our local skies, but no one else locally speaks of them or even knows what I'm talking about. So I stopped talking. Some websites I found say they are training drones for the air force or navy, very typically practicing their flights around. Others say they are tools of mass surveillance, sucking up all info from the area and able to zone in closer (not just visually using face recognition if you are outside, but also sucking up everything we transmit over our technology phones, computers, texts, everything)...I imagine we will find out sooner or later. And no, for the record, I don't believe in the phrase, "If you are doing nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about." Its not whether we are doing something wrong. If this is a mass surveillance tool, THEY are doing something wrong.
Asfandyar, check this out: https://firstlook.org/theintercept/2015/02/19/great-sim-heist/ Looks like our governments got together on this one ^^
I'm pretty pissed with my smartphone provider who just sent me a new map app so they know where I am at any point through GPS.I mean it's not a major concern, like I give a fuck,I just don't like the intrusion into details as in some tech firm being able to know where I am at any time.
Right. I don't like that either faerylights! my friend believes the only way your phone is ever really off and non-trackable is if you remove the battery
here's the best shot I can get of the drone. if anyone has a better idea of what this is I'd love to hear it. Enlarge for the shape; its not a plane and too large for a personally owned drone (I'm guessing)
I have to say to any spieing, intruding, etc....get tf out!...unless I am putting something for everyone to see on a public forum...get the hell out of my private business....I am not in yours.....and yes, you are doing wrong.....shame on you.... I am not hurting anyone so leave me tf alone! :daisy:
Most people don't know this... Most of those cell phone pics everybody seems to take have the location the photo was taken embedded into the code of the pic. If "the Man" wants to know where that party/bud/drug haul/whatever happened to be... It's in there. This isn't new, it's been that way for years.
True! that's how I think possibly some of these kids attract these predators-- they can find them using that
Very good article, however it's nothing new sadly. 'Our' government is better than 'yours' in some aspects and vice versa, but they're both different limbs on the same dog. The same vicious and cunning dog that's ordered by the same 'master' or 'masters' I like a lot of the previous post, especially scratcho's... I remember a simpler time
