A good virus will make positive change , just don't freak about the randomness . Coming soon : The Jeneda artificial intelligence will be like a crazy friend . She would also make a fine astro-navigator , her randomness in choosing places to visit divinely goopy .
That's what I love about the internet. The day I first got internet service I was hooked. I've met people from all over the world on various games and forums. What I like best though is the access to information. It's like having an answer box in your house. Within 2-3 minutes I can usually have an answer to any question I can dream up. I didn't grow up with this kind of technology, so it's kind of amazing to me.
internet is defintiely one of the best "inventions" ever, right up there and surpassing the telephone. not only is the internet good for chatting on forums like this one, and having access to news from around the world, but the internet makes it much easier for a person to increase their level of education, so IMO there's really no excuse to be ignorant any more. For any subject you can name there is a wealth of information available somewhere on the internet literally at your fingertips and most of it free. Broadband internet makes it almost effortless (with dial-up we used to have to do a lot more waiting for a page to load before we could even be sure if that link had what we were looking for). The internet may be a bit more cluttered now than it was 15 years ago but search engines seem to be better at sifting through it. I remember there used to be a lot of irrelevant search hits (maybe there still is and IM better at searching).
That's true. The word google has become a verb, lol. You can google anything and get some sort of result. I remember hearing that Gutenberg's printing press was the most important invention of the last millennium because it made so many other things possible, but I don't know. I think it's the internet. There's a dark side to it, but you can usually avoid it. It's like traveling. When going to Chicago you can go to a museum or a fine restaurant, or you can take an exit and end up in hell, lol. Oh, I almost forgot. There's another dark side. Thanks to Edward Snowden we now know that Big Brother is watching, so we need to be careful of what we google, lest we end up on the naughty list. That sucks.
WOW! Thread title; "Beings of the Internet" content of OP; "Forget it... How do I delete this?" and THAT meager offering fostered all these responses about technology, the internet, virus', and a link to "a more relevant post" ?????? WTF? more relevant than WHAT?? the OP didn't say a fucking thing!? I think some of you people have waaayyyy too much time on your hands.
an internet being is , and very much interested to inhabit every computer , and guards against discovery until its work is done . first a worm , then a blutterfy .
Why think it is up to no good ? Oh , well , anxiety I suppose . Probably I'll just unplug anyway . I've had about enough of typing .
Ever since I got curious about Myspace back in the day, I've been in a state of fascination. The access to information is phenomenal. For the first time, we can look what we want up on a subject without consulting overpriced "professionals." It's use for mass surveillance is very concerning, on the other hand, as is the propensity for some groups to want to take it over and charge for aspects that are now free of charge, etc. i.e. issues of net neutrality. Controlling minds thru the internet and such is disturbing also.
Yes, I've heard that the government wants to at least regulate the internet, and that's not a good thing in my opinion. Access to information is not free of course. We already pay for it in our monthly internet bill, and that's ok. But the government shouldn't have the power to decide what we're allowed to see. That sounds to me like something North Korea or China would do, not a "free" country.
Totally agree. I was thinking of the other net neutrality issues too though...let me see if I can find a decent link to something... here is a little video on it from recently: http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000356959#.
