Trump and his cronies are advising Americans to "wait it out"; a prominent Democrat I heard on the news earlier came back with: "Trump and his billionaire buddies can AFFORD to "wait it out".....they're all BILLIONAIRES......what about the average American, struggling to make ends meet as we speak?" This sickening state of affairs becomes more and more bizarre and infuriating by the day.....
We are now indeed living in a frightening, highly-uncertain realm of "Apocalypse Now"........and, with each passing day, the world (what remains of it) more and more recalls a line from the classic 1960s Diana Ross & The Supremes song, "Reflections": "......living in a world of distorted reality......."
....when a CONVICTED FELON is elected President (and serves NO jail time) you KNOW that there are some VERY serious flaws in our much-fractured judicial system, and it's pretty %$^$#^@! sad. And here, once upon a time, I steadfastly believed that NO MAN was ABOVE the law.....damn, was I ever wrong......
All of the above are legitimate concerns for a whole lot of people and they also have global implications and one's sexuality really doesn't have a lot to do with it since every last one of us are in the same boat... with a madman who's putting holes in the boat. Being bi or gay in this political bullshit today isn't all that different from being bi or gay at any other time in our history. When Ronald Reagan was in office and hit us with Reaganomics, his economic plan did a number on America and greatly affected the middle class and the poor and just like I saw when the country's situation went to shit when the assassinations took place, the people who were hit the hardest turned to booze, drugs, and sex to make it through the day whether it was working for a pitiful minimum wage or trying to find a job to support yourself and your family (if you had one). Reaganomics is fucking with people's lives and men were getting seriously stressed out and while being able to get some pussy always worked, well, you know how us guys are: We are hard-wired to be horny and much to a lot of women's dismay. But, not a problem because just like when I was a young and upcoming bisexual, it was well known that there were guys who'd want to have sex with you; some of them were gay and some of them were on this "new" thing called the down-low, which I thought was weird because you go on the down-low to keep people from knowing your business but guys were going there to have sex with guys without the appearance of being homosexual. I still scratch my head over that one but the point of it all was moot because I got to be around a lot of men who'd get stressed out, get high and, yo, can you help a brotha out? Sure, bring that dick over here and let me get at it and while I'm getting at yours, well, you know what to do, right? And it wasn't a problem so much as long as everyone kept their big mouths shut about indulging in this other source of sex and a source that was more readily available than the best pussy you could get. We worked through the Reaganomics clusterfuck and while some guys were able to finally get their heads above water, many more were still floundering to keep from drowning under a Republican president's idea of what was best for America and her citizens when, in reality, all it really did was make the RWA even wealthier. Which meant that when the stress of the day got to you, there was no better way than to be able to bust a nut (or two) to keep one's head screwed on right and if your lady wasn't going to accommodate you, well, who didn't know about the guy(s) who'd be more than happy to throw it down with you? I don't see this clusterfuck being any different. People who aren't RWA are going to get stressed out and it seems to be instinctual that we want to have sex and, yeah, you know it: If your wife, girlfriend, or that hot chick over there doesn't want to have sex with you, there are guys who will and with relatively little hassle... provided they aren't making it impossible to be had. And while Nero plays golf while Rome is burning - again - bi and gay guys are still handling their bizness trying to get into the pants of other men who just might be stressed out enough to avail themselves of this "different" way to get rid of stress.
kD23: Again, another one of your best and most comprehensive posts; and, also, am in total agreement. "Stress relief"........yeah, that could indeed be a factor in guys getting so fustrated (and horny!) that they'll even go at it with another guy.....hey, when your balls are bluer than the sky, and you REALLY need to "bust a nut", I guess, indeed, it is pretty much "all hands on dick!" I heard on the news earlier that at least 1,000 anti-Trump protests are planned today across the country, two in New York. Things are indeed getting QUITE ugly, and will, in all probability, get even UGLIER before (when and every) things start to improve, and I do not see that happening any time soon.........
One of the things I engaged in was "figuring out" why guys would turn to sex with men and they're not gay. I had had guys asking me, "Why do I have this urge to suck a dick?" and, at the time, I didn't have an answer and I had had no idea that a guy could, in fact, get an urge to do that... and then some. It's not just that men are hard-wired horndogs but there were social triggers that were playing into this and one of them was... political strife. The social stuff I was now paying attention to made a lot of sense and, yeah, when your balls are swollen and hurting like a bitch, what are you willing to do to make them stop hurting? When your woman dumps you and even kept your dog, what's the immediate "cure" for this down in the mouth? Turns out that this level of emotional lability can get a guy to agree to let another guy suck his cock and being able to bust a nut in the guy's mouth - and he swallows it - isn't going to make the overall situation better but for right now? Because when a situation gets so bad that you know that there's nothing you can do about it and you're hoping you don't get caught up in it, well, having sex is great way to spend your time and energy rather than stressing over the political shit and even if you can get some pussy, being able to get some dick also works and more so when you understand that it's just sex to be face down/ass up and there's a guy giving your hole a good reaming out and to be followed by quite a bit of cum. Clean up, get dressed, go back to what you were doing and without giving a lot of thought about the political clusterfuck going on around you. Invite Fred over to watch the USFL game and at halftime, get into a 69 with him because... why not? Get each other off, finish watching the game and when the wife comes in, take her upstairs and screw her silly... if she'll let you and if not? Call Fred. He offers a solution to some stressful situations that doesn't require a lot of brain power and, indeed, it's a no-brainer and I've personally had guys ask me, "How come I never did this before now?" A lot of guys think clearer once they get laid although if this is the first time they've had sex like this, well, it might present different "issues" but when you need that stress relief that only sex can bring to the table, eh, letting Fred suck you off was better than your wife doing it! And, hmm, sucking cock isn't bad and cum is an acquired taste but not a hard one to acquire and the political bullshit that stressed you out continues to roll on but you have a way to not let it fuck with you so much, huh? Send the wife to go visit her family and invite the fellas over for a naked stag party where boys can be boys and, yep, with the "excuse" that it's not being gay or anything like that but it's a great stress reliever and just boys being boys. Now, it might sound irresponsible to be diving deep into M2M sex while the country is losing its mind but it isn't; you still have to deal with whatever situations the political upheaval are affecting you but, yeah, we get stressed and we need to have sex and if the old lady ain't gonna help you out with this, guys like Fred can and will. The political shit will eventually settle itself out and with all the shit going on right now, there's not a whole lot we can do about it other than to urge our elected officials in Congress to deal with this shit before he kills America forever.
KD23: AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++!!!!!!! Once again, you've related so much to us here, in simple common sense "M2M" talk, no sugar-coating, just the facts as they are. Totally agree; even though M2M sex WILL indeed relieve an acute attack of blue balls and stress for the moment, you STILL have to go back and deal with whatever adversities that you are personally dealing with. Yesterday, ine newscaster made the following comment: "........Hopefully, not too many will be checking out their 401Ks in the morning, otherwise, the hospitals are going to be overwhelmed with heart-related issues......." That's pretty damn sad. The sad (and sobering) thing is, I do not see any glimmer of hope on the horizon. Our precious democracy is being brutally slaughtered in the name of a vile dictatorship.....God help us all.......
Which would you prefer to do: Face the ongoing clusterfuck with a clearer mind because you got laid or try to face that clusterfuck being stressed, frustrated and distracted because you need to empty your balls? Sure, the clusterfuck isn't going anywhere any time soon but it goes back to which mindset you want to face it with. And if you couldn't get any pussy, any port in this storm could be welcomed. Not all men succumb to resorting to getting some dick when the stresses build up within them but it's also part of the reason why women outlive us - we don't handle stress in an efficient way. It is said that the good Lord helps those who helps themselves so if your choice is to keep holding out for the hope of getting some pussy or letting Fred blow you - because he's being just as stressed as you are because of this clusterfuck - which thing are you gonna do? If you don't help yourself, who's supposed to? And if you're gonna stay worried about a situation that you can't do a fucking thing about, there could be some heart-related issues that have nothing to do with your vanished 401k. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather manage my stress levels at this point in time by either having sex with my woman but if she ain't feeling it, I know some guys who wouldn't say no to a mutual cocksucking session.
KD23: Though I am NOT at all happy with what shit is going down in DC, I sure as hell ain't gonna worry myself sick over it, when there is NOTHING I can do to change it. WHY make yourself SICK over something you CANNOT change, even though you wish you were able to "turn the tide"? So guys, here's the bottom line: Enjoy your sex life, hobbies, whatever, and just keep on keepin' on and FUCK all the shit that you CANNOT do a goddamn thing about..........
Just a little well-needed levity, here, for a moment...... Tell Trump and his legions of mindless, bigoted, demented minions that "MAGA" should also stand for "Make America Gay Amalgamated" and see how FAST "MAGA" will be replaced with another "slogan"......
As a society there has always been a small population who wants to make everyone conform to their beliefs. They do not take the time to open their minds to others' ways and pass judgment on them without any effort to understand. A straight person cannot understand why there are people, neighbors, friends, family - who struggle with gender and sexual differences from them... just as a white person cannot understand how it is to be a person of color... they judge even though some are Christians who are taught "judge not lest ye be judged". Today we see the focus on gender identities and they have an uproar over it. When was the last time anyone took the time to understand a person who grew up as one sex but actually felt they were the other sex - How many of us were asked at a young age - Do you have a girlfriend? When we stammered, we were snickered at by the adults in our lives who thought our embarrassment was cute. What did we know about ourselves that we learned, almost without being told by anyone directly? Today's social atmosphere - which is well into its 10th year - has given permission for those who are homophobic, racist, misogynist, etc. to spew their ignorance without consequence. Social media has played a role in this - we no longer have that sense of propriety, politeness - it was called civility once. Now we write whatever comes to our minds on social media platforms for the world to read. How far have we come? How quickly are we retreating? People have a warped sense of how good it was in the 50s. It wasn't good then. One of my favorite movies was "Guess Who's coming to Dinner?" and one of my favorite scenes was with Kathryn Hepburn sending her assistant at the art gallery on her way... collect the things that belong to you, take this check, and permanently disappear from my life. It would do a lot of good to have a similar movie made like that now - with a trans character or a gay/bi character coming home to his/her parents, and let it play out. Movies influence our culture whether we agree or not. I know this is off topic... but it played a significant roll in my life as a child. I remember one night, watching Ed Sullivan, and Ella Fitzgerald was coming on - now that is my name - and my dad called my grandmother into the living room, pretending to tell her that she needs to see who is singing. Grandma, a good Christian woman that I loved dearly, walked in, saw who was singing and verbalized her favorite swear word "pshaw" and left. Dad laughed. My father was not a racist, that I knew of - but he knew it bothered his mother that a Black woman shared our name. And I think he was just pestering her in his own way - but it profoundly affected me and it was the first time I remember as a young boy why would it be a negative thing that my grandmother didn't like this... She loved that President Kennedy shared our name, why not her? I may not be personally affected at this point as a gay/bi man, and my daily activities may not be altered by 47's executive orders, or what some politician may try to do, or whether the Supreme Court reverses marriage rights for gay/lesbian people. But I am a human who cares deeply about others, and how they are treated. I profoundly believe that my remaining silent is how our lives will be affected. We may have come a long way from 1969's uprising in NYC's gay district - but the historic signage was changed recently to remove any reference to the Black person, a trans woman, who is credited with that uprising... it may seem like a small thing but silence now will bring bad things back so quickly our heads will spin. To this day, I walk carefully into a gay bar, being keenly aware of my surroundings - I remember those days in the past and I don't want to go back to those days. I may not be affected personally by the way I live my life - but my brothers and sisters are being affected by it, and that is enough - Isn't it?
Gary: First off, thank you for sharing your views and opinions here with us; your words indeed do speak many volumes, my friend. As a huge fan of the late Sidney Poitier (Mom and I both loved "A Raisin In The Sun"); recall, also how Sidney fought back with dignity against a racist establishment in "In The Heat Of The Night", another great Poitier vehicle. Also, a big fan of "They Call Me Mr. Tibbs"; indeed, Sidney was a legend, and he was iconic......and dignified.....in every sense of the word. Big companies have no idea how they alienate gay viewers who watch their commercials; couples are ALWAYS m/f (I saw one awhile back that briefly showed a mature male couple on a couch together), but, it is obvious to these big companies that gays are to be made invisible, as they they do not matter, not even exist. Damn sad shame, and I fear it will only get worse, under the present administration. You are VERY WISE indeed, my friend, in being cautious when entering a gay bar; these days, ANYTHING can happen and it's best to be a SAFE side, at least until you get a "feel" for where you are. You and I both know how hostile and vicious straights can be towards gays, even those who give no outwards signs of their true sexuality. Whatever happened to "live and let live"? As I posted awhile back: "Would Jesus hate a gay man"? I replied (to myself): "No more than I'd hate a man who drove a Ford Galaxie instead of a Buick Roadmaster". We are, indeed, living in a world where injustices and discrimination still rule; a damn sad commentary on our country. Look at how much the gay community benified under Obama and Biden; today, that bigoted, insane, orange-headed nutjob is tearing down all that these two former Presidents had worked so hard for......to try to UNITE us, and not to DIVIDE us. All we can do is take one day at a time, and let common sense guide us through all the current toxic fallout, trying to retain our dignity and pride.......
I find it sad and misguided to hear people going on and on about how great the 1950s were and... they have no personal references like, oh, being born and growing up in the 1950s, for example. There were TV shows like "Leave It to Beaver" that showcased the "perfect, white family and family values" that the Moral Majority worked hard to enforce and even in my earliest memories, I'd heard people saying that the Cleavers weren't real and neither was their so-called perfect world. I've said it before: All the biphobia going around these days is just homophobia with a different cover because any of us born and raised in the 1950s has already heard all of this bullshit so a lot of us don't pay any attention to it unless they happen to come up with something new which, honestly, they haven't. Transphobia - and I'm assuming that this is the newest new word and phobia - isn't really that new but you'd have to go back to like maybe the 1920s to see examples of it but I suspect that it was really homophobia to publicly see effeminate gay men "appearing" in our God-fearing society and... The 1950s wasn't as nice as the people who never lived it thinks it is. Those high moral values have always sounded good on paper... but history reveals the reality of such pie-in-the-sky thinking and, well, by the time the Summer of Love really got rolling, the Moral Majority was really starting to lose its grip on its highly moral and religious position because, okay, if one person is a 'rebel', that might be a problem but when there are millions of people rebelling in the exact same way, hmm, this might not really be a problem or, as my young and inquisitive mind had asked, "If there are so many gay people in the world, how can it really be wrong?" And understanding that it's only wrong because the bible said so and there are a lot of people who believe what the bible says despite the very contrary evidence that, to this very day, is right there in everyone's face. I'd gotten into an "argument" with someone who was born in the 1980s and they were trying to tell me what life was like in the 1950s and I asked them, "How would you know? Were you there? Or are you just believing some shit that, at best, is only part of the truth but is more likely someone's opinion - and from someone who, like you, weren't born yet and neither were your parents?" In 2025, #47 wants America to believe in some shit about the 1950s that wasn't true in the 1950s but a time that could show you how racist and homophobic America was back then and how the Moral Majority sat in judgement over anyone who (a) wasn't on board with their bullshit and (b) weren't white Americans. It was bad enough to be a person of color in the 1950s, even worse to be a person of color and you weren't heterosexual; the political and social situations of the times was pretty fucked up but not to the extent we see today but a society that allows its president to be assassinated because he had plans to do things for America that his political opponents weren't trying to hear... is a seriously fucked up society. In the 1950s, if you were homosexual, you were considered to be a non-person and even "worse" than people of color were still considered to be and my highly curious ass wanted - needed - to know why all this ranting, raving, and hatred was going on about something that, if the information I'd been able to glean was right, has been a part of humanity from the start. If the MAGAs think that living under 1950 rules is the way to go, they are sadly mistaken, misguided, and foolish. Folks like myself... lived what others now see as history and as we've learned time and time again, history is whatever those who are in control says it is and they are going out of their way to make sure that no one finds the truth of the 1950s by... erasing that history and that should tell you just how fucked up this shit is going to get. It is said that those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it but if you remove that history, then it can't be repeated... can it?
KD23: As always, an excellent, thorough, response; thank you for taking the time to share your opinions and thoughts here with the rest of us. The best days of my childhood were in the early/mid-1960s; we lived then in an all-white neighborhood, and I still fondly recall so much of the 1950s nostalgia that was still present. I remember riding buses and subways in New York with my mother after dark, with nary a thought of becoming a statistic. We obeyed and respected our parents, nuns, and teachers; we little ones knew nothing about sex, and could have cared less. We still played "street games" under the watchful eyes of our ever-watchful mothers. It was still a time of innocence for much of middle-class America, and I truly miss being able to see the world as it was through a child's eyes. We then lived 15 minutes from New York by bus, and made frequent trips into the city, again, with no fear of what MIGHT happen, unlike today. Though of course, I was surrounded by black and white folks during visits to the city, I was too mesmerized by all the hustle and bustle to notice skin color. It was ONLY when I saw a bus driver, a subway motorman (or a conductor) who was black, that I noticed....did not make one iota of difference to me, as ALL of these men were my childhood heroes. It was not until the later 60s, with so much civil unrest in the news, that I (nearing my teens by this time) began to "pick up" on the ugliness of racism. Our nuns and teachers were VERY much into the civil rights movement, and we kids quickly got interested (at least, most of us did) through them I began to read more and more about MLK, and the more I did, the more I admired and liked him. When the news of his assasination was broadcast on television that dark day, I can still hear my mother: "That man did nothing but want to help people. Why is there so much hate? What does killing an innocent man prove?" (thinking now, also, of also JFK and RFK) As I said, Mom was color-blind regarding people's skin color, and, thankfully, I am the same way today. It was not until I was about 18 that I knew that there other masculine gay men out there, when the first few gay magazines began to appear on the stands. Still, back then, being gay was still a "taboo" subject; and, IF you heard mention of gays, it was ALWAYS more than insulting and demeaning. Years later, now working, I would cringe inwardly at straight guys busting a gut over a tasteless gay joke; you don't have to be told how much I was turned off by racial jokes.....I NEVER found such "humor" at all amusing......truly stupid, not to mention, highly insensitive. What I think angers and disgusts me the most today is how ruthlessly the current "MAGA" administration is tearing apart all that Obama and Biden strived for, to make us all equal. This, in iself, is truly sickening. Again, skin color, race, religion, orientation, etc, mean nothing to me. My motto has always been: "If you are a good person who treats me with respect and friendship, you'll recieve the same from me," For me, it's always been simple as that. Think now, also, regarding injustices, of the treatment of Native Americans, and the sad plight of the thousands of decent, loyal-to-America Japanese Americans, during WW2, especially in California (Mom recounted a lot of those days to me when I grew older) Sadly, it seems that the more we advance as a society, the faster whatever advances we've made seem to disappear from our lives...........
JFK gets assassinated, then MLK got assassinated which set of a wave of racial strife - and that's being polite. I can remember too many times coming home "late" from judo or karate practice and having to plan my route home carefully lest I run into white gangs looking to beat the shit out of anyone who wasn't white and had the nerve to be in their territory. I remember a guy walking up to me in broad daylight and asking me if I was a faggot and then telling me that if I was a faggot, he was going to kill me. He pulled out a switchblade and tried to stab me and I went "all Bruce Lee" on his ass and left him broken and bloody on the street - and with that rather nice switchblade in my pocket - because I was now running for my life thanks to the 10-15 guys with pipes, baseball bats, and other weapons. Once I crossed a certain street, the "mob" chasing me stopped, yelling racial epitaphs and threats of what they'd do if they saw me again. Which was kinda stupid since none of them chasing me got close enough to see my face but this was the kind of shit we all faced being born in the 50s and trying to survive the turbulent 60s and with a government that either didn't care or was powerless to do anything about the people who felt it was their place to bring lethal violence to anyone who didn't look like them and/or wasn't straight like them and... what the fuck. What. The. Fuck. I had white friends and some of them were also my lovers, and we had figured out that having sex with each other was a lot more fun than us trying to injure or kill each other over stupid shit - and we were behaving better than the adults who were supposed to be smarter. And those idiot MAGAs want America to go back to these days and times? They haven't yet learned to be careful what they wish for? They already ignored the predictions that so many people made regarding what Trump was doing to do if he got elected again and despite the dire nature of this plans, we the people put him back in office... and after all the shit he did when he was last in the office and now a lot of MAGAs are finding out that while their lord and master was fucking various demographics over, he was also fucking them over, too - but they still want to go back to a time when racial hatred and homophobia ran rampant through our society and the RWA were getting richer while standing on - and breaking - the backs of the poor and middle class and think that they're going to get a pass? That they know something about that time that those of us who were born in it - and lived through it - don't know? In truth, I miss the good old days because it was so much easier to have sex with a guy and not because of how fucked up the way of life was at the time.
KD23: You WOULD think, by the mid-21st century, that we FINALLY learned that hatred and violence neither PROVE (nor solve) ANYTHING. All it does is to further inflame an already highly-sensitive situation; we are fast becoming a society where NO ONE trusts the other (look at all the sensless road-rage killings, between two people of the SAME color!) Sadly, there seems to me NO RESPECT for decent folks of ANY color, race, or creed. When I worked in the city, I indeed witnessed the good, the bad, and the ugly; I witnessed racism (as well as reverse discrimination), homophobia, and anti-Semitism........I was like, geeze, guys, get a fucking life! I also well know personally what long-lasting damage bullying can cause (been there, done that) Think about it....it takes the SAME amount of effort to spew HATRED as it does to spread friendship, tolerance, and brotherhood. Alas, for all of our great technological advancements, we are fast sliding back into a culture of barbarism. I truly fear for today's young people.....and their parents.........
The shit we're seeing today is proof that we haven't learned jack shit about being better than we were in our past. I fear for all of us...
KD23: I still recall clearly something my mother said, several months before she passed; she made this comment after watching the news....... "The world should end and start again". And, perhaps even more profound........... "The Devil has such a strong hold on the world that God cannot get through to help the good people." To this day, these words of my sainted mother still haunt me
