......I kinda miss those..err.. discussions:lurk5:.... As a barefooter, I must say the whole thing is taken far too seriously by some. I just roll with it, places I've got to put on shoes I choose to ignore or go with their rules. I don't let it upset my day Shayla x
When I had my highway store I had a sign on front, No shoes, No shirt, No service, I never pressed it tho but the sign could have been my save if someone had come in, cut themselves and tried to sue me. Being there was a small town behind my store and camp grounds meant there was kids running in and out all the time and I had a huge candy section for them. No one sent them home or back to their camp site for shoes. I never had any issues because if something was dropped it was cleaned up right away.
you just told us that your trainer was good for nothing! From my side, i got in my foot a big ass rusty nail sticking from a board and i was wearing freakin'boots. so maybe it's safer watching one's step and if you're barefoot you better be damn aware of where your sole is going to land.
Are businesses and customers that clumsy that glass is strewn pretty much everywhere? Have to tell you that stores are pretty clean...can't say I've crushed any glass in the past...ohh....NEVER!! Do we see needles lying on the floor of hospitals? Why the antiseptic society?
....Don't trip man, they'll tie you in knots on this argument. It's a society where most people reject self responsibility and blame every accident on somebody else. Organizations and businesses are just as sick of people claiming damages as we are of being told to take care. Unless the mindless morons start to realize that they have to operate their own body with care, we have no option but to go with the flow. Sx :sunny:
Really tho. I had glass broken in my store a few times, kids usually grabbing at stuff, we cleaned it up but you do have to tell customers to move away. And water leaks from coolers. I just saw one of those at my local grocery store a few weeks ago and reported it to a shelf stocker. He was unaware but dealt with it. In that case a bare foot would have slipped in it where most shoes wouldn't. And you don't often see a water leak till you walk in it, you are looking at items and prices. Needles on floors in hospitals,,, you see more junk that touched other people's bits on floors now then you did a few years back, since they did all the cut backs. Sharps usually go in sharps bins but who is to say other stuff contacting your bare feet won't contaminate you? And needles or not, that's one place I won't go bare foot. I wear slippers in there and if you land in there without any personal stuff they will supply you a pair, best to ask. People are there because they are sick, it's a sure place to pick up unwanted buggy things.
:iagree: well said. hospital bio threats are the nastiest bunch, since the sterile environment promotes selection through survival of the fittest...
