this has already been addressed, but for the sake of being me, I'll address it again. You are in the stoner's lounge, a place that the powers that be, gave to us, the stoners, to discusss whatever we like even if it is nonmarijuana related. But obviously since you've been around these forums so long you knew this. You might want to minimize your browser, I hear your mother coming to tuck you in.
man i made tuna helper....now i dont eat a lot of canned meat. nearly none...but i remembered liking it in the past, so i got some...and it tasted alright, but in it i found a bone and a few scales, some of which ended up in my mouth accidentally by overlooking them. kinda disgusting, i dont think i'll be buying canned tuna again.
canned tuna is gross imo my parents eat it and never buy anything else so i dont eat that stuff very often sometimes ill make a small sandwich but ive had the same experience before a nice bone that ended up in my mouth i just realized this is a technology thread haha
I've always hated canned tuna. Now fresh tuna is well an entirely different story, I love fresh tuna. i was also raised that X-helper was shit. however, when i got to college and was short on cash for a bit I fell in love with hamburger helper.
i dont like hamburger helper much, too salty. using ground turkey in place of the hamburger and a little less than all of the seasoning packet helps. tuna helper is downright palatable, though not at all high-class or high-quality. i'll take it over fast food anyday. though this experience with canned tuna has turned me off of it a bit. i do love a good tuna steak and indeed enjoy many different types of fish, and usually i enjoy it best if its grilled and very fresh. but canned tuna i thought was no good outside of tuna helper, and indeed it really isnt imo. but the whole idea of canned fish really IS gross, and the experience with bones and scales lets me know its not too very selective as to what gets in there. too bad, cause i have another box of the shit and another can of tuna, and im probably not gonna let it go to waste...i am pretty poor after all :\
I had a mom who spoiled me with home cooking (no wonder i'm such a fat ass) so I hate hamburger helper and tuna helper. I only eath tuna from the bags and only when I'm making tuna salad for samiches (<==My word for sandwiches). =)
my folks both cooked real food and both usually cooked pretty well most meals throughout my childhood. we occasionally would eat food like this though. sometimes you're in a hurry or tight on cash and need to make a lot of food with little money. a can of tuna and a box of this stuff goes a long way, and thats a valuable thing for a busy young parent on a tight budget. so i'd had it before and remember thinking it was pretty tasty. and it is. but the canned fish was just too gross. i am actually a pretty good cook, i just rarely can justify spending the money on good fish and steaks and produce and such....so much of it is so much more expensive for so much less food than if you buy packaged stuff.
I'm with you on this one, but I have one added problem... when I cook I do not like to clean up. I love cooking and experimenting with new ideas and recipies, but I hate to clean up afterwards.
