any of yall ever watch the brew dogs show? its pretty entertaining. its a bit fake but then again what reality show isnt. the thing is this is about brewing microbrews so i can look past the cheesiness of the show.
i relapsed tonight. after 18 days sober went bowling and my friend ordered a pitcher of beer. -i had a sierra nevada celebration ale -then a shot of vodka that tasted like fruit loops -then a whiskey and ginger ale -then another girly vodka drink (my friend was buying all the shots - i had to pick on him after this one, told him to drink a man's drink) -a shot of fireball whiskey -and a toasted lager
im drinking mamma mia, pizza beer. it actually would go ok with a pizza. aside from pairing it with maybe a couple different kinds of meats like pepperoni or salami though i couldnt recommend this beer to anyone for any reason. its a nice novelty beer but not something anyone should drink in a session. i would like to experiment with it more but i only have two bottles and one is for a friend who owns a pizza restaurant.
I really enjoy this beer. I bout this other one by sam adams that I wasnt too fond of. then I went back to cold snap.
Finally got to try some PumpKing ale. Good. but the: River Horse pumpkin ale 4-pac is the Power Pumpkin.
pumpking had a bit of a weird, mediciney after taste - even when it wasn't from the growler that made me sick as fuck. i'll probably never drink pumpking again, because i associate it with that time... i got a bottle of fireball whiskey. been drinking it on ice. not really a man's whiskey (like drinking scotch on the rocks, or neat if you're extra tough) since it's "only" 66 proof and it tastes like cinnamon candies. but it's pretty good. i'm havin a relapse again
Tried a new one at the local beer store. Real strong ipa. From the taste i thought it was 8abv minimum. Look on the bottle and it was 5.9%. I feel like as a beer to warm up it is only half doing the job. At work now, ill tell you what it was when i get home.
i had a really good IPA the other day too. maybe the best one of my life. i only have the cap though. GDBC? from Denver CO and it says great minds drink alike... after consulting with bing, it's called Titan IPA from Great Divide Brewing Company. http://greatdivide.com/beer/brewing/titan-ipa/?verified=true the malty finish is what i really appreciated with this beer. normally, i find that IPAs have an overly hoppy character that's not balanced with malt richness. they tend to leave my mouth feeling dry and puckered. i'll have to see where i can find some more of these. i'll have to try them again to see if i really loved it. sometimes i taste a beer for the 2nd time and it's not all that great - i was just in the mood to drink when i tried it the first time. having Fireball on ice tonight. several of them. it gives me a certain type of buzz. and i haven't gotten hung over from it yet. i hardly drink enough to get that though.
