Bird, maybe we are sending all our pumpkin stuff to your country because we dont eat it. Because besides some seasonal beer and pie i never see pumpkin in anything. Unless you count the seeds. Im wondering exactly what taste you mean when you say "should taste like beer" because even beers made with just malts and hops can have a very wide variety of tastes. And beer has been made with more than that for centuries. It is just the germans that started the hop and malt only rule. And i dont see why i cant have some variety because of some country a half a world away doesnt want to.
after some posts about red wine being good for your blood pressure i started looking at wines. i bought a couple reds that looked like i would like it based on past experience. and one bottle of apothic dark limited release 2012. it sounded great the description mentions mixes of blueberry and blackberry with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. and they are all good things and after tasting the wine i can taste all the notes they describe. but the bottom line is that it dosnt smell good and it dosnt taste good despite having hints of all that good stuff. its like taking the best mix of great wine from berrys and chocolate and then mixing it with the worst grapes ever made into wine. and there you have apothic dark. just poured my second glass to hopefully post a more in depth review but its just like i said. good notes but the base is just not good.
now i know why they call it dark. after finishing the bottle a few hours later i took a dump and it was dark...like almost black. if you see this wine stay away.
I would almost always have said liquor and beer, but, recently I've been finding that I just love the drunk off wine sooo much.
Have any variety you want, I never said you can't have it. I just don't like those flavored beers, even though I do admit that basically all beers are flavored. I guess I want my beer hoppy, not even sure how to explain that flavor.
I agree completely. I'm half tempted to mail you some of this stuff: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/24453/65644
Fucking Jesus this is a good beer. i used to have to trade beer through the mail to get this stuff and now it's distributed in texas and i couldn't be happier. the only thing is, it's tough to get your hands on some unless you know a 'beer guy' or have it good at a liquor store. have you had the Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout? it will melt your face if you're into that kind of shit
It is certainly not a Belgian beer, but by the looks of it they might have tried to make a Trappist style beer. If they even come close to any of the Belgian or Dutch Trappist beers I am sure it is tasting great. I love Trappist beers!
There are many good American-made Belgian brews. I am not sure about the one she posted there, but Avery makes some pretty good beers.
I never had an American-made Belgian brew. I think they are just not imported here, but I'd love to taste a few.
