i just went to trader joe's and got a mixed 6 pack of "Josephsbrau"

tried the Dunkelweizen last night and i thought it was pretty great. i've only had a handful of that style, but this one was as good as any i've tried from Beers of the World.

i also tried the Hefeweizen (normally a big fan of that variety) and i thought it had a weird taste...like it was too strong or something.

but it's only 6.99 for a six pack i think.

I will have to pick up some of the dunkel hefeweizen next time I am out in Pittsford. I haven't been back out to Trader Joe's since around the time it opened back in the Fall, mostly because I found myself unimpressed with the store overall. I hear the ones out west are a lot bigger than ours. They remind me of a more upscale but overhyped version of Aldis, which is apparently owned by the same company.

thinkin' about walkin' to the liquor store again...I think I'll go to a different one this time, I don't know if I wanna show up at the same liquor store so many times a day, I know that guy, he works there seven days a week, all fuckin' day usually....middle eastern people know how to own small businesses, and they work hard.

I think I read that wrong until I got past "Had a delicious BJ.."

I'ma start on that last 40 I bought, I have another day off tomorrow, so I'm not afraid of feeling like as much shit as I did today (which wasn't an off-day)

It's fantastic. And strong. All of their beers are good that I've tried. And the bartenders make some weird mixed beer concoctions. One of them pushed a dark side of the moon on me. Blue moon topped with guinness. Interesting to say the least.

aceK, why don't you buy 2 or 3 40s at once? or do you like going for half-drunken strolls?

pressed rat, i thought the same thing about that trader joe's when i went soon after it opened. it seemed better this time, but that was probably mostly because it wasn't so damn crowded when i went on a sunday morning.
my wife was commenting on how cheap all the organic stuff was.

if it makes you feel any better, i did too. :2thumbsup:

but ya, Bj's beers aren't too shabby :) then again the venue and the company can make even bad beer good, if you know what i mean.

Porky, ya that TJ's brand stuff aint bad. i'm not much for the wheat beers but the rest in their variety pack are drinkable.

have you tried their mexican beer yet?
