Yes, Cynthy! Thanks for the suggestions, Everyone! I went to the "Sleep By Number" bed site and captured a pic of monster bed frame similar to the one I have.
The manufacturers should make rubber end-caps to put on the ends of the angle irons. Perhaps there are some aftermarket companies that make them.
I'm going to look around and find something to use. It'll probably end up being good old Duct Tape, lol This time what got me was a super sharp piece where the leg of the frame is welded onto the frame. There are so many rough edges on it. I swear that company should be sued. (The bed has many problems besides this.) Anyway, I tried to take a pic of where the damn thing scraped me. I was just sitting on the side of the bed and pulled my foot up to put on a sock or something.
both beds i've had since moving out of my parents' house have had wheeled frames. basically like the pic aerianne posted a few posts back. i've never used the wheels for anything, but they're there.
I'm sure in another thread over the internet someone's bitching about the bed not having wheels "Don't they know we may want to move the bed to the other wall without scuffing our floor?!"
Lmao do they roll around while having sex? On hard wood floors, it seems like it would be all over the place. I see the one in the pic has a brake, but looks like it would be a pain in the ass to use. The bed I'm using now is the first one ive had that wasn't home made. I guess that's why I'm so surprised about the wheels. But now I'm kinda wishing that mine did have wheels.....4 built in motors makes it heavy as fuck.
Some have locking casters. I've used beds with free casters on hard floors and they haven't moved around. I think one would need to do some fierce love-making to get the bed to roll around.
My bed doesn't have casters, and weighs 5X that of a normal bed. But yet on occasion, it still moves several inches across the floor when I have sex
You might even try looking at the kid proofing stuff that is out as they do have some really inventive things to buffer corners that might work and it would not be too expensive to do.
Damn expensive beds - we didnt have prob. like this when the mattress was on the floor & the kids were little. To hell with spending too much on a fancy bed - maybe you can sell it on Craigslist. Replace with comfy mattress, forget the box springs and frame. Hope you get a good nights sleep, Cara
You would think if you drop 2 grand on a bed you would get a better frame. I'd keep the mattresses and get a new frame. You can build something yourself for pretty cheap. My personal favorite:
Yes, I think I might look into building something. I like those simple designs. I might even just go ahead and put together a funky head board out of some weather fence boards, too. That's what I've been wanting to do anyway. While we're on the subject, here's a tip: You can give new wood and aged appearance with steel wool and vinegar!
