I went for a massage so wouldn't want to turn up with dirty soles, especially as i like him to give my feet a fair bit of attention. They really deserve it after all the barefoot miles they've done lately.
I always walk there in flip flops, kick them off at the door, then walk back home with them tucked in the waistband of my shorts. My feet (and the rest) feel fantastic afterwards so it's worth the half an hour of having to wear flip flops.

Went out really early - 4am - for my walk this morning.

In the town centre I passed 2 young women, obviously a little worse for wear struggling to walk in very uncomfortable looking heels. One was complaing quite loudly about her feet hurting. I expected them to say something to me as walked past with my bare feet, but they didn't, which was slightly surprising.

On the way back I passed them again and one had dared to take off her shoes at last, maybe seeing me had inspired her. She didn't look like she was enjoying her barefoot walk as much as me though.

I'm always barefoot for years now. Don't own any shoes. :)

You can get away with it, when you are a student and part time working from home as I do.

I'm not from UK, I'm from Germany. But I visited UK a few times and I found it amazing how many people (well, actually 99% women) walked barefoot Friday/Saturday night, cause they could not walk in her heels anymore. ;)

Even in winter. I really liked that, being a barefooter myself.

I visited a motorway service station a few weeks ago, barefoot myself and saw two girls there with no shoes on and filthy barefeet wandering around the shops.

I filled up with fuel afterwards in a local village, and again saw a young ish lad paying for fuel with no shoes on and filthy soles. Must be the warm weather here in he UK!

Sounds good! Apart from a young woman in a shopping centre I’ve only seen one other barefooter this year, a bloke manning a stall on a village green, no shoes in sight. I hope our numbers are actually increasing!

Went for a walk in the suburbs last night which was about 3 miles. My soles got filthy but the warm roads and pavements felt very nice . Long may the hot weather continue

Well tonight I can add another barefoot sighting - a man, probably late 30s walking his dog, no shoes with him. It’s nice not to be the only one! Other than that I went for a walk in the countryside, had hoped for some close encounters with wildlife but it wasn’t to be, though did see a couple of deer in the distance. It was a magical walk, the grass felt so soft and a little damp, and a pretty dramatic sunset

Went for a walk around Worksop this morning, not been there for a couple of years, arrived about 8 am and spent an enjoyable couple of hours before the sun got too hot. The main pedestrian area felt so nice I had to turn around and walk it all again. Sat in the park for a few minutes resting my feet and saw a young woman take her flip flops off to walk through, which was nice.

It is now 1.45 pm and I've done over 20,000 steps already today, all of them barefoot.

Out earlier today I got caught in a heavy thunderstorm. After waiting for the rain to subside a little I carried on walking - there really is something magical about going barefoot in warm summer rain.

Some of the stone surfaces in the town centre always feel a bit slippery, but still lots more fun than the people struggling in flip flops. If only they knew how good it felt.

I’ve been barefoot in central London a couple of times this summer. Around Oxford street, Soho and Covent Garden. It was only for a couple of hours but each time I’ve never seen my feet so pitch black! I quite like getting my feet dirty and I know there are a few others on here that do - take a trip to London before it rains, you’ll get crazy dirty feet!

^ Did that just the other day....spent a whole day there having been up for an evening a couple of nights before. Did the above areas, also Camden Market where I was entertained by the best busker ever....a guy called Cam Cole...check him out on YouTube, he's amazing.

This involved several tube journeys too...brilliant for pitch black feet. Must've walked several miles and went into a couple of pubs to cool off. Only disappointment: no one else barefoot at all. Incredible really, considering the heatwave here at the moment.

I know, I was the only one as well. People do love their sneakers at the moment. And so many people still in skinny jeans! Don’t get me wrong I’m all for them, but I don’t really get it when it’s been 30+ for a few weeks - can you imagine trying to take them off!

Cam Cole looks great - some crazy dude dancing in the background in one of them!

Only been barefoot in London once, a few years ago I walked a couple of miles back to the car barefoot after a concert.

Would love to spend a day there riding the tube and shopping. I bet the surfaces in the underground stations feel great. I go on the trams in Nottingham sometimes, which is fun.

The surfaces are nice and smooth and mostly cool though not in this heat. Definitely get your soles very dirty.

I’ve only done it in London briefly, it was during a work visit and before going barefoot regularly - the hotel was stuffy and I couldn’t sleep, so I went for a walk around Covent Garden in the early hours of the morning - while it was stuffy in the hotel it was a March evening and the streets were damp and cold, I went back fairly quick. I bet it’s a fun place to go bare otherwise

On a country walk and getting some weird looks, like I’ve just escaped from a lunatic asylum. A lot of people looking down at my feet and choosing not to acknowledge me. While I’m really enjoying my walk, I can’t help feeling how bigoted people can be.

I went to a coffee shop later, pretty girl serving - she noticed my feet but gave the biggest smile and I had great service, wished me a great day when I left...the ups and downs of barefoot life!

We were in Wisconsin for four days. My feet saw sandals when we went to the state fair and when I walked into a couple of restaurants. When I left my feet were bare. While shopping at the small shops in Cedarburg my feet were bare. None or the shop owners objected to my feet being bare. I saw a young lady strolling around in her bare feet. One older lady asked me why I was barefoot. My wife told her I never wear shoes even in the winter. The woman smiles and told me to enjoy my walk.
The pictures are my foot prints left in the hotel lobby. A long string of them. The other is of me putting large rocks in our pond for erosion control.

Just seen a young woman walking her dog on my estate - barefoot with no shoes on her. Maybe my barefoot ways are spreading :)

Yay! Let's hope so! I saw a young woman barefoot the other day, standing outside the local shopping centre as though waiting for someone. At least I think I did. I glanced away for two seconds and she vanished. I used to find this a lot when barefooting was more common.... I'd spot someone (male or female), then within seconds they'd vanish. Sightings are so rare nowadays that I'm actually wondering whether I imagined the whole thing, and that in fact I am the only person who goes without footwear.

The thought of being mentioned in a thread like this as a "sighting" almost makes me want to wear shoes
