Gotta love ppl and statistics, we already showed in another thread I started that higher gun control states have higher gun related crimes, so stats are really easily tainted.

Countries with the highest gun control tend to be dictaitorships too.

And I'm not for banning guns, but honestly take Columbine High School for example. You think they could have knifed up injured and killed just as many people as they did with a semi-automatic??

What about so many police that get shot?? Do you think a criminal would stand that good of a chance against a police officer with a knife??

Oh, and I don't think we would have any innocent bystanders if criminals were attacking with knives.

You have obviously never seen someone who is proficient with a sword.

Considering when a school shooting happens, no one else has any other weapons except the attacker, a sword can do just as much damage, serriously, especially if you pull out a sword in a crowded hallway, all you have to do is start swinging randomly and within a few seconds you can have 10-15 people injured/dead

Yea but shootings generally happen by people who aren't great when it comes to marksmanship.

Funny how probably 97% of people who will mention Columbine don't even know of this.

I will probably never own a gun because I personally do not want one. It's not right FOR ME. However I have no problem with other people having guns if they have them for the right reasons and are responsible with them.

I wish we didn't live in a world where you need to protect yourself at times (or might need to), but that is the world we live in.

Like I said, it's not for me.. but I understand.

Well that’s to the extreme left field.

Do you honestly think the kids at Columbine were trained swordsmen???

    How irrelevant...

That’s the death toll, but how many people were injured??

I read about that, but good thing he didn't have a freaking gun because I doubt the teacher would have smelled that now would she have??? It would have been far worse if he had a gun, don't you think??

And I'm sure if bombs were legal you'd see more stories like this.

It's much easier for a teenager to make a homemade bomb then to obtain a gun, or for anyone that matter, you don't have that pesky 5 day waiting period.

As for the dictatorship/gun thing, 1. Canada has strict gun measures, but at the same time actually has a high rate of gun ownership, 2. In general dictatorships haven't been fond of people having guns.

Can I please see the source where you got that bit of info from, because I find that very hard to believe. Even if that had any truth to it (which I doubt)how powerful of a bomb are we even talking about??

Bottle of anything flamable(gasoline, rubbing alcohol, butane, ect..), plus cloth and lighter, alright, you're ready to throw your hown homemade incendiary bomb somewhere, besides, there are god knows how many web sites that tell you how to make more sterotypical "exploding" bombs from every day objects, alot easier to make one of those then a homemade gun, some kids have meth labs, some have bomb labs. Even the Anarchist Cookbook, which I'm sure more then a few people here alone have read.
