i'd have to say placebo....maybe Nirvana too...taught me that there is nothing more important than being yourself...and excepting who you are...(more so for placebo) tho in terms of being...a strong female parson who had a positive impact on my life when i was younger i would say - Gwen Stefani (when she was in No Doubt) & pink
I also would have to say The Beatles. When I started listening to them, it was kind of a turning point in my life and I became someone totally different. It wasn't because I was forced to change, but because it was about damn time And now my entire taste in music focuses on Beatles everywhere. They were so damn talented
Nirvana really changed me on a personal level. Well my favorite band at the time was Limp Bizkit, and my parents took my cds away cause they had too much "explicit content" so I went and bought Nevermind........and that was it
wow alice in nchains and tool are two bands that have had a tremendous effect on me as well, but than again there are a dozen of bands that in some way or another have had profound effect on me, can't really pick one. every period in my life is guided by itys own music from the day i started listening to Queen when i was eleven. i started to listen to psytrance too, but now i listen more to breakcore, tekno and dubsteb
Ooooooo got to love breakcore n dubstep. Infact most Dance genres are fantastic. I do love the clowncore etc aswell Psytrance is where my passion truly lies though.
i got a bad ass kurt cobain shirt for 50 cents at the salvation army but has nirvana changed my life no not really
man, gotta be the dead. i was like a 14 year old pseudo skater punk who was angry at nothin cos that's what all the shit i listened to told me to do. then my friend, who was a couple o years older than me gave me 'american beauty', and it was game over. i went from looking at apperances to tryin to see into the souls of people. really seismic change for me.
never heard of clownscore, but i imagine it to be the funny side of breakcore. i am familiar with that genre tough, just didn't know its named clownscore. i think dubstep is my most favorite dance genre, but that might be because i am more of a music listener than a dancer and dubstep of course is a perfect 'dance'genre to listen to rather than to dance to
if its the music that caused this transition in perception, than i'm really happy for you it happened. it also makes me happy to hear that music can have such a profound effect on someone's life. so you try to look in people's soul? good work man!
yeah man. hunter's lyrics are deep. 'american beauty' was simply the shove that got the whole thing going. shortly after that, i got hold of a live set, which included 'playing in the band'. after listening to the lyrics and thinking about them, i began to realise my own insignificance. i donno. prolly a stereotypical kinda schtick, but that's how it happened for me.
Not a band but David Bowie. I used to listen to only hip hop, soul, funk and dance but then I got a David Bowie greatest hits album and loved it. That was not even a year ago and now I'm a Bowie fanatic. I love his music and now I've started listening to rock too like Hendrix, Beach Boys, Yardbirds, thanks to Bowie.
i tend to think everyone is both equally significant as insignificant. its like ur important, but just as important as anyone else and dpon't think you can do it all on you're own, you need love from others and so you will have to love others to, but never underestimate your own ability to show some compassion. does that make sense?
most definitely. pretty much what i was tryin to say, but i couldn't get it out. like everyone is a part in the same consciousness. and just like the individual, the consciousness has many facets. i lost my train of thought, but yeah. it's all about charity.
seeing tool live changed my whole perspective on music for the better.and I love pink floyd so much it hurts.
you have no idea how much in common that is for me i used to listen to all death metal and goth rock and all that shit.. but ever sence i started to hang out with peopple who are like 11 or so years older than me .... my whole view on life has changed soo fuckin much also ever sence i started to smoke alot of grass to to be on topic...Got to be The Grateful dead
the band that changed my life the most was Band-Aid.... "Cause Im stuck on band-aids cause ban-aid dont stick on me"..
The band that changed my life and gave me a reason to live is AFI (A Fire Inside). Hands down. No contest!
