i'm excited. I still live with my parents, though, and my mom is not in favor of getting chickens. WE NEED CHICKENS!
There's lots of tax raising room in the US. And an emergency is a smokescreen for changes. I mean, the big fixup job after the gilded age was FDR in 32. Granted, the crisis was already old news then. The upshot is that Obama has no money for any of his social programs. Universal Health Care could require a reliance on a taxation system. But I mean, reversing the Bush tax cuts and closing corporate loopholes would provide more than enough revenue. Unfortunately, I think they've created precisely the kind of environment where Democratic social plans require them to raise taxes. And then look bad in the face of "fiscally conservative republicans". It's tough to predict what'll happen when we don't know the shape of this crisis. Without 60 votes in the Senate I imagine there'll be a lot of delaying tactics from the GOP minority there over tax changes. However, hosing 1% of the population is an idea with potential. They can run a lot of ads until they get hosed, it's basically what FDR did and what Reagan undid.
An inflationary depression would be much worse and last much longer, as that would completely destroy the currency (which is what the powers that be want).
This is a great time to take advantage of the opportunities out there to make money...I am still thinking what it would be though.
yes, i am kidding. My dog's name is Love. I can't eat her. she is our baby and sweetie. but to be honest....if you are starving you don't know what you will do.
No recession yet. Economy has been steadily rising. Barely but rising. Might change this quarter though.
