I wonder if Bacchus knows anything about the mythology behind his name? It's the Roman name of a very ancient deity (who also went by Dionysus, Evius, Bromius, Evohe, and several others) who's known today only for his association with alcohol (he was the god of wine), however his purview goes far beyond that. Originally hailing from East Asia, his followers accepted everyone, highborn and low into thier ranks. This deity represented an entire worldview. In the simplest terms, he was the god of altered states of conciousness (other than wine, he also oversaw insanity, theatre, psychedelic mushrooms, etc.). The philosophy behind this was that the path to wisdom could be found by viewing the world through as many different lenses and from as many different angles as possible. In short, he was the god of openmindedness; of seeing the world through the eyes of others, of "spending a day in the other guy's shoes."

Our Bacchus seems to be the opposite of this. He doesn't deserve even the name he's chosen for himself. I, for one will no longer tolerate having to see that name associated with the bigoted posts he makes. He has now officially made my "ignore" list.

I never said I was a victim, but at the same time I do not get to enjoy the privlages that males have in our society. I have had devestating things happen to me because of my gender, so this goes beyond verbal bullshit it is where your verbal bullshit hits peoples hearts. Even if I am not a victim of racisim I voice my opinion and have a job which allows me to stop it. I hope that a man if provided the same opportunitty would do the same for me on gender issues. with all that being said I love being a girl er uhm woman because it is part of my idenity. I like this idenity in relationships ect but not at work. Poeple need to be sensitive to those who are viewed as an inferior class.

I think Bacchus is a very intelligent guy with a lot of knowledge.

True, but I haven't limited myself to that Republican hatred, I help on an individual basis. Ny house is like a fucking homless shelter, there's always someone showering or sleeping on the couch or doing laundy or cooking something or whatever. I also don't vote that way, I usually vote Libertarian, sometimes Green, I think Green would be best functionally, and (L) better ideally.
