1. The Hipforums announces it first ever fundraiser. After nearly 30 years online, we must ask our members and guests to help support the website. Thanks to years of ongoing financial support of our members, advertisers and volunteer admin staff, we have been able to keep the forums alive.

Now we must ask for help as available funds have all been used for our Internet server and other fees.

So please donate any amount to our PayPal account donate@Hipforum.com to keep the site going. If we can get enough for a few months fees, we won't need to nag you again!

You could also subscribe to the forums and get an upgrade to Supporter or Lifetime Supporter here

8 huskies now. :p We're still giving them away, apparently...... boohoo. :(

The requirement for the Iditarod is a minimum of eight huskies, but you want to have more with you incase one or two die or can't go on. I think you get disqualified if you end up with less than five... the smaller races, which I think would be more enjoyable (250 miles compared to 1,049??? (o_O)), don't have as strict requirements and you can use less dogs....

Aha, I used to be obsessed with sled dog racing.

I've seen the Northern Lights and they're gorgeous. I was in Norway in a really remote place with absolutely no man made light, and the stars were breathtaking.

What I found more fascinating though was the dry electrical storms that happened over the rainforest in Belize. Shades of pink, green and blue just appearing in the sky.. awesome.
